I never wish an injury on anyone and hope that Dickerson gets healthy but I also hope that what Mosely did today shows Pat he deserves the bulk if not all of the back-up PG minutes and the in most cases finishing the game as our PG.
Was he perfect today? Of course not but he's our best bet on the floor when it matters most at that position.

Really proud of the guys and the staff for this game, after the Nova demolition. Could have come out with their heads down but chose to put that game behind them and give it all they had. I would be saying this even if the ball at the end had fallen the Johnnie's way.
In addition to Ponds, boy would I like to have Tariq Owens on our team. Real rim protector with great timing and excellent athleticism.
We have already won three more BE games than I expected. Maybe we can steal another one or more.

Plus/minus for this afternoon's game, as calculated from the play-by-play posted at guhoyas.com:
Blair +14, Pickett +10, Derrickson +9, Mosely +3, Govan +1, Walker -5, Johnson -6, Mulmore -6, Dickerson DNP/injured (back), Hines DNP/coach's decision, Muresan DNP/coach's decision.

As close as alot of these games are we can't afford to have someone who is a defensive liability (because of size and lack of lateral quickness), can't rebound (because of size), is erratic from outside and drives but misses shots cause of no lift, turns it over or can't kick out and pass.

I love that He who must not be named and his minions have disappeared after the game was won. It must have been too much for them to take to have certain defeat of the Hoyas snatched away from them in double OT.

I keep hearing about he who must not be named...is he The Phantom, the ghost who walks? Obviously this is inside information. Is there a conspiracy at hand?

Just got home from the game. First let me say Pickett showed me a lot more than I expected. Shot looked a lot better. But his ball handling is still atrocious. In my mind the jury is still out. I attended the game with two friends who are big college ball fans but not invested in the Hoyas. When you watch the Hoyas with these guys it does become embarrassing. Our ball handling is so bad that you literally hold your breath every time they make a pass or drive to the basket. Today's game was a comedy of errors. Both teams blew 5 point leads with 30 seconds left! St. John's has some phenomenal, completely boneheaded, athletes. After regulation my one friend suggested that the best team won't win because there was no best team. Basically we all agreed that all we could be sure of is that the worst team would lose - and they did! Look, I'm glad we won and I enjoy my trips to D.C. I also appreciate what PE is trying to do with limited talent. But face it, St. John's and DePaul are probably the only teams we can beat this year.

This is the type of win that really unites a team, going forward. I love these guys...warts and all. A great, gritty win and they will only continue to get better. Congrats guys, you earned it today! On to DePaul and 4&5 in the conference!

I thought it was a great confidence builder. We saw what Derrickson, Blair, Pickett, and Mosely can do. But they also showed themselves. They were clutch.
During the breaks during the over time, Mosely called team together and was really active talking to them. I loved seeing that and hopefully he settles into this role.

The fact that we can beat St Johns and DePaul this year is surprising to me. The only embarrassing thing to me about that game were the fan and their general level of silence outside the last few minutes and the t-shirt throw. I've never experienced a more apathetic fan base that can barely muster a golf clap during a tied game with minutes left. The players, while limited, played their hearts out, never gave up, and gritted out a much needed victory. There's nothing embarrassing about that.

There is absolutely no way to describe this team as embarrassing. And the crowd today on TV appeared like they were watching the team ironically. The team needs the crowd. You saw the energy level when everyone finally got into it. Hoping for better for Depaul.

It's late enough to grab a bite before and just early enough to not interfere with plans for the rest of the night. The problem is the fans. Not the time.

I just finished the game on DVR. The end of the game was definitely the most fun of any we've had this season. Great win, and Derrickson played his heart out at the end of the game. A few thoughts:
- I've been hard on Pickett, but this was clearly his best game in a long time - and probably best game as a Hoya. I am happy for him. He still had 4 turnovers, but if he can cut those back and shoot better, he will have a good role on the team. It's only one game, but definitely lots of good things for him to build on, and it should certainly help his confidence.
- After a very rough game in most of regulation, Derrickson came up huge in overtime. He carried us at the end of the game.
- Govan has been having trouble with double-teams and bigger opponents in the Big East and tends to settle for the 2 point jumpers too much. He's still one of our two best players, his offense has just dipped in Big East play a good bit.
- Mosely/Blair really performed well in this game, and illustrate why they should be getting a good amount of playing time (along with some Mulmore), and Mosely did a nice job on Ponds defensively. I hate to say this here, but this game illustrates that we do not miss Dickerson at all. Given that this game ended in a tie in regulation, even 5 minutes of Dickerson could have lost this game for us.
- In one of the huddle's they showed, Ewing was shouting "Move the ball!" and told Derrickson to go to a pick and roll if the post shot wasn't there. I was happy to hear Ewing say this and it sort of confirms my suspicions to date that Ewing is trying to implement an offense, but the execution is often not there (which, to an outside observer, makes it look confused frequently). This will improve as our talent levels improve.
- At the end of regulation, Ewing was making a nice tactical move - subbing Johnson in for defense, Pickett for offense. A small thing, but good move.
- We still had a fair amount of defensive lapses, but that's clearly a work in progress.
Of course, this game was sloppy on both ends, but we won it, and that makes me happy so for now I choose to focus on that. Hopefully this can be a nice boost of confidence as we face some tough games in the coming weeks.
