True, but for some unknown reason I'd like to try to start him one time. Instead of Kaleb? yea I'd try it maybe it'll motivate Kaleb more idk

We all want an elite PG but at this point that doesnt appear to be coming for 2018 but if McClung and lets say Pinson can just be efficient and play with a sensible Bball IQ that already will make a big difference... Well, let's not rule out 2018. Of late, there have bee a lot of transfers in college ball; more than I have seen ever.

Blair is going to be a very good college player. All his deficiencies are correctable. I certainly hope that one where he keeps dragging his left foot is.

Marcus Derrickson is a Stud They haven't been able to stop that little lefty hooker from the baseline. Have never seen quite a sweet little short right hand hook like that before. Like how he is turning it into a money shot.

Wow. I was of little faith. Literally left the bar I was at after Blair missed the 3 in OT and by the time I got home Mosley was completing 4 point play! What happened! Never count the Boys out. We are seeing the beginnings of a Hoya team with a heart.

One of my problems with JT3s coaching was that over the last few seasons his teams did not improve. With Pickett and Blair and Marcus showing in season improvement, there is hope for this season to be a real building block. Pickett with 16-9-4 and definitely showing some toughness, encouraging. Not to mention, Mosely real solid OTs. And Marcus with that fall-away, one legged beauty- see that coach?

Ewing should start Govan, Derrickson, Pickett, Blair and Mosely. Bench: Mulmore, Johnson, Walker I've said this lol... Thank God, Ewing has shown he is his own man. He knows the horses he have in the stable. As JT3 once said, it doesn't matter who starts the game, but who finishes. Just love Mosely's attitude about coming off the bench.

Had to watch on DVR delay. Pickett showed his potential today. Mosely showed he should run the point right now. And Marcus showed he has brass ONIONS.

Glad we were able to pull it out. Attrition worked in our favor as the game kept on extending. I wish we had a player to put the ball in the hands of come crunch time, like Ponds for SJU.

Ewing should start Govan, Derrickson, Pickett, Blair and Mosely. Bench: Mulmore, Johnson, Walker That would leave absolutely no 2nd unit. Those guys can finish but we have to have some semblance of an offense on the 2nd unit. Our "best" unit is so dependent on the situation. Those 5 are definitely our most potent lineup though.

Any word on why Dickerson was not in uniform today? Back Spasms, same issue that kept him out in the 2nd half of the Nova game..

Ewing should start Govan, Derrickson, Pickett, Blair and Mosely. Bench: Mulmore, Johnson, Walker Those five guys got the most minutes, and that's what is important.

Good game. I think the take home message from this game was when it looked like St. John's might pull away at times and other guys stepped up besides Jesse and Marcus. The team needed that. Especially with Jesse struggling with fouls. And then in clutch time, Marcus put the team on his back. St. John's has some players. Mullin as a coach is still up in the air. However, he has his guys playing hard and they fought their guts out. Had to be heartbreaking for them today. They had this game, but our guys just would not give up. I think we saw what can happen when other players can contribute. Namely, Blair, Pickett, and Mosely. All 3 played their best games of the careers when we needed it most. I think our starting lineup is okay. JT2 always preached it's not about who necessarily starts, but who finishes. Blair and Mosely are perfect players in their reserve roles. Blair with his fearlessness and shooting from the outside. Mosely with his speed driving north-south up the court, his spot roles at PG, etc. Don't forget Kaleb, either. His stats in the boxscore don't reveal a lot of what he does for this team. He is a glue guy. How about Pickett? Can't say enough about Coach Ewing's patience and tutelage of his freshman Pickett and Blair. Same with Mosely, Jesse's, and Kaleb's improvement. Most importantly Marcus' play. Marcus was always the x-factor for our program. Kinda drifted his first 2 years. Talent was always there. Great to see him playing like he is capable of playing this year. Credit to Coach Ewing, his staff, and Marcus himself. Now, let's keep things in perspective. We have a long ways to go. Wins will be hard to come by this year, and we got our 3rd. The crowd saw a thrilling game. It was great. Go Hoyas!

Coach Ewing speaking to Washington Post- thought that today, those guys finally showed that they’re not freshmen anymore,” Ewing said. “They did everything for us both offensively and defensively . . . They still managed some mistakes, but I thought for the most part they did a lot of things [for us]
He praised Pickett in particular, for starting to see himself as more than a three-point shooter, and said: “He’s finally starting to believe in himself. That’s the Jamorko Pickett I recruited.”

To me the main thing was how the team would respond after the Nova game. While the talent, depth and roster construct is suboptimal, the team fought the whole way despite some sloppy play, etc.
A good sign of PE’s coaching ability.
