You say why not? I say why should they? Nova does not have another 30plus victory since St. Joseph on Dec 2 Creighton does not have another 20 plus victory since South Carolina Upstate Dec. 20 I assume that these losses do not bother you and or you predicted that the Hoyas would get the doors blown off at home vs Nova & Creighton? It's almost as if you've been rooting against the Hoyas and the Thompsons for the last decade.

If we lost in the same manner vs St. John's or DePaul, then I would be a little concerned. Well, I see that you are not alone...these blown out losses don't bother hoyainspirit either. Who else do you see coming to the Verizon and putting the Hoyas away early?

@glide. This whole roster is on the shoulders of JTIII. Except if he stayed we prolly lose Derrickson and Govan to transfer and we have maybe 100 fans in the building. Damn I am heated at tonight's showing. I vastly underappreciated the Jason Clarks, Markel Starks, Jessie Sapps, and Jabril Trawicks of the past. Mulmore and Dickerson are a literal disgrace to the history of the program when they pull on the uniform that is how bad they are at basketball. Agree. I wish Jt3 nothing but the best, and remember many good days/years with him at the helm, but this roster is a snapshot of how far the program had fallen under his watch. Ewing has brought a fire as a coach on the sideline, a work ethic thus far on the recruiting trail, an accountability culture, a faster paced offense, and a willingness to press defensively. All things many followers of this program have been clamoring for. Jt3 left this roster without a D1 guard, and it shows out in spades against teams like Creighton and Nova, et al. There will be better days ahead I hope, but tonight and this season being attributed to Ewing or his staff would be a fallacy. But he finally caught on and had gotten a floor general in Waters, but you all ran the both of them away. You see what Brunson did/does right. He controls a whole game. He's a coach on the floor. JT3 fixed this, but some of you couldn't be patient enough to see for yourselves, so stop blaming him out of guilt.

But the OP's rant was about JT3 leaving the cupboard bare, in the post he mentioned Dickerson which could be taken to mean JT3 recruited him.. I just wanted to set the record straight.. Btw, how well has Dickerson filled in this year? JT3 was always out there as well. But he couldn't be all places at one time with how limited the recruiting schedule was. JT3 went and got Waters, so what's your point? All you have to do is go to twitter and go back when JT3 to see all the scouts/recuiters tweeting a JT3 sighting. smh Some of you are ridiculous lol.

And it took Wright 5 seasons to get just that team depth after he got to Villanova and he was known as being a good guard coach coming in, where guard wanted to go and make their game better. Bringing having 2 elite point guards coming in at the same time is something that takes some serious voodoo talking as elite kids want to own the minutes and know it is their team. Having a junior elite PG and a frosh elite willing to wait and learn is a possibility, but that coming in the same year is insanely rare at the best programs. 2016 glidehoyas.wordpress.com/2016/02/20/understanding-what-the-hoyas-have-been-missing-a-true-point-guard/I agree with you. We deeply need a good point guard to run things, particularly in the Patrick offense. I was having problems looking at the suspension of reality of bringing in 2 elite point guards. I'm really curious how Juggy and Mosely do working with a really solid point guard. Both have showed they can play, but they are trying to do too much that is outside of their capability and experience. My son's teams have had really good point guards for stretches and it makes a massive difference and everybody plays better. In a tourney in Bowie this weekend there was a high school Freshman who was just destroying the other teams with 30 to 40 points and double digit assists (it wasn't Zion Harmon). Where are we keeping the time machine?

This was just an ugly, ugly night. It was an embarrassing loss because of how quickly we were taken out of the game. I'll admit that, even with our limitations, I would like to see a more competitive game against better competition for longer. As the season goes on, we start to make many of the same mistakes when our opponents get ahead. We run too fast and turn it over and then settle for bad shots instead of pushing it inside. That said, we are clearly nowhere close to Villanova in terms of capability at this point. We weren't going to win that game. Even so, I would like to see more toughness and pride going forward even if a game has gotten out of hand. I don't want to make any bold pronouncements about this team, this coach, or any of our prior coaches from this game. It was a terrible night and a sign of how much work we have to do. I hope Ewing can turn this ship around. The thing is III's Princeton principles slow down ball masked the talent gap the last couple years because the Princeton by nature is a use the full shot clock slow down offense. This kept games lower scoring and the scoring margin smaller even against elite teams. So in that sense the Princeton style led to more competitive games. That was the whole idea behind the Princeton slow things down and keep things close so the less talented team could compete with the big boys. When you play a wide open NBA style then you are going to see bigger routes when there is a wide talent gap between teams.

And Dickerson is a one year fill in the bench player. He wasn't seen as as a Pryor who could start and help lead the team. He was a late fill-in. Not exactly someone long recruited. It is amazing how often Patrick is in local high school gyms watching players in games and chatting. I don't know the last time a Gtown head coach has been out watching and talking in the local community as much as Patrick has been. I would see Ronnie Thompson quite a bit, but his kid was playing, but never JTIII. But the OP's rant was about JT3 leaving the cupboard bare, in the post he mentioned Dickerson which could be taken to mean JT3 recruited him.. I just wanted to set the record straight.. Btw, how well has Dickerson filled in this year? Dickerson has been doing what he was expected to do, fill-in off the bench. Not a starter, but can eat some minutes. He has improved his play, but he isn't a starter and wasn't going to be.

I posted on this board in 2015 that we needed a PG that could drive and defend because DSR was neither? Why you stealing my thoughts Glide? What do I win guys. Apparently I was the 1st one to ever notice that to be good you need good PG play.

Where are we keeping the time machine? Exactly my point. True point guards/floor general are an extension of their coaches on the court. Their jobs are to make their teammates better, control the tempo of a game, play inside/outside, first look is into the post. This is the strategy to get the other big in quick foul trouble and for us to get to the free throw line to get into the bonus and if we're smart enough to get into the double bonus. I probably can talk basketball all day with you because you know the game. You see the game through your children. Much respect to you. Go Hoyas!

We need a lot of things at every position. Coach needs to recruit 3 more players and let everyone earn their position. As frustrated as we fans are, imagine what's going on with the players.
Someone mentioned Xs & Os, what does that matter when players can't exhibit fundamental skills? They need to intalk to a sports psychologist or have more player team meetings to get on track. Hang in there Hoyas.

I never stated JT3 wasn't out recruiting.. oh okay. 3 was one of the most hardworking coach's out there. Was he perfect. No, but he was out there trying to do his best and he finally figured it out. As he's always done. but they couldn't wait any longer.

Hang in there Hoyas. I asked about x's and o's because most of these kids came from x's and o's in high school. Trust me it matters a whole lot. Those kids do have some fundamental skills. Sports psychologist lol.. good one.

It is semantics, then let me change it to the Capital One Arena By the way this was Georgetown's largest margin of defeat since a 33-point loss to Maryland, 104-71, on Dec. 10, 1974 I wonder how many on this board saw that game?

Been fortunate to have kid work with and play for really good coaches with D1 experience, a few tourney experiences, NCAA championship, many with Euro pro years, and some NBA time. I've learned a ton as has my kid. He still loves the game and wants to learn more to get better (2 of his coaches have looked at him as a coach on the floor, but not quite a point guard). He is playing now with a kid that fits the Villanova model really tightly, but is a few years away from that.

Nova is scoring 80-90 points against good teams, and we played right into their style. Only chance this would have been close is some version of a burn offense. I still think it is the right choice for Ewing because I'm guessing its part of trying to attract recruits with a more up tempo, free style offense.

Sorry but lack of a point guard is just too easy an excuse for this mess. Guards that cannot shoot, only two ball handlers on the team, freshmen who shoot too much and do not defend, horrible perimeter defense, bigs who receive the ball inside and hesitate or bring it down making it easy for the defender, and telegraphed, lazy passes. There are many reasons why this is not working, but the absence of J.T. III has nothing to do with these losses. It was time for a change. Move on.
