Divesting fully is nearly impossible in the near future.

You talk about JT3 an awful lot on here. Dude's gone. You're clearly rooting for Ewing to meet the same fate and reaching for parallels between their tenures. Your JT3 stuff just gets repetitive after a bit. Even for you, this is pushing it. For whatever reason, you took my 2016-2017 defense of JT3 personally, and you can't seem to let it go. You consistently interject yourself into threads with my comments simply so that you can say things like you have above. On occasion (certainly not often) I refer back to JT3 teams, etc. (I mean, he was our coach, what else am I supposed to call them?), but I have not engaged in any defense of his time as coach. Enough already. Further, I am not "clearly" rooting for Ewing to "meet the same fate." I've been on record here, multiple times, saying I think the best result is for Georgetown to succeed with Ewing as the head coach. The transfers this season absolutely killed me from a fan perspective. I did not want them to happen, and it was very upsetting. Under your logic, I should have been cheering for them. And ironically, on substance, we often actually agree.

Holy mercy. Did we not just win a conference game going away? Shoot, why not just decapitate everyone if we lose tomorrow? This stuff gets absurd.

Glad I came to see how was on campus this weekend... Pretty sure there are 97 other threads these comments could be in instead. Thank you for saying that I guess I'm not alone here when I asked if we had any recruits show up during the week!!!!!!!

This stuff gets absurd. the sad part is...that i suspect there was a section of the fanbase who hoped we would've lost yest, eager to put an obituary on the season and the Ewing regime smh. Its shameful. Depth issues or not this team will play hard and as of today we are healthy...lets rally around the team and handle Nova tomorrow.

I don't say this to be glib, but frankly if the 2020 and 2021 classes aren't good, I am not sure Ewing will have a 2022 class. Without success - and we won't have success unless we bring in high quality players one way or another in 2020/2021 - Ewing will not have the luxury of waiting for the 2022 class. It's great to see the staff all over the remaining 2020 class, and I am hoping Ewing can pull this off. Granted, whether he needs to do that with some changes to his staff is a legitimate discussion to be having.

Enough of this nonsense. I'm a 20 minute walk from campus, I'll go see who's there myself. Now, I'm looking for Bronny and who, exactly?

Keeping to the subject of this thread, there was a recruit who was supposed to be on campus this week. But, I can't find who that was or if he showed up. If I remember correctly it was an unofficial visit.

I'm curious if anyone at a press conf or otherwise publicly has asked Ewing why we have struggled so much with recruiting and what he said. I know he talked about it a little when he was in NY for the Duke/Texas games with NY media.
Jt3(and univ admin publicly) used to pretty much blame it on facilities toward the end of his tenure and hence the big push to build the Thompson center as a priority. I'm not saying that we should not have built the Thomson Center, but obviously goes to show that one needs to take public pronouncements with a heavy grain of salt especially when the proposed solution simply requires kicking in more $ to the univ. Obviously this was wrong.
It seems like Ewing works pretty hard, is a decent coach, and obviously knows the league well has great contacts there etc. On the flipside, team performance, player development(has Yurtseven improved vs NC State for ex-I really don't know), and staff seem to be question marks. If I'm a recruit looking at that scorecard + Gtwn itself which should mostly be a + not sure what I do especially if I'm a very highly ranked player. Counter to that would be Ewing developing a close relationship with a player-not sure on that front either..

It’s funny that people have mentioned Georgetown’s image as not appealing to the kids we recruit, yet it doesn’t seem to hurt places like Duke or Stanford. There is more to it and I’d love to find an answer.

Outside of the blue bloods, programs are very similar these days. Hard to differentiate the offering. Kids don’t care too much about our 80s legacy and see us playing in an empty arena. Plus, our record has been lacking for almost a decade. We all know the positives.

I wonder if having a more varied college environment, i.e. D-1 Football program would have any impact on decisions. I know GU has a football team, not sure if it is D2, D3 or club football team. Georgetown plays Division I football and has since 1993. Please visit the following page to learn more. -Adminwww.hoyasaxa.com/sports/football.htm

Stanford and Duke are sports powerhouses with great home courts. Tons of funding as well.

Positive for Recruiting: lots of playing time next year; BE Conference guarantees national exposure; playing in an NBA arena; Thompson Center; strong academics
Negatives for Recruiting: lack of recent success; poor attendance in the NBA arena; still unproven coach (known to parents, not the kids as much); strong academics
A good season under trying circumstances would help Ewing's stance significantly.
