Anybody ever heard of that before? A kid transferring away - twice, no less - and going back to an original team?

If basketball doesn't work out, he could apply for a position at Barron's Profiles of American Colleges. He's seen more college campuses than a lot of us put together.

Nice kid; good effort on the court but he has had more press releases than significant moments in his career. Check please.

Hey the kid got his degree from Georgetown and wants to keep playing basketball. He is apparently chasing minutes and returning to the school he first selected. Who can criticize that?

He's got a AB from Georgetown, an MA from SMU, and Louisville is paying for a third degree. Who wouldn't take that? As for people taking this as some sort of disloyalty, I don't agree. He left Louisville injured and over-recruited, but left on good terms. If Paul White wanted to play at Georgetown for a fifth year, would we hold it against him?

Akoy seems like a very good guy. I think the worst thing any of us could say about him is that he thinks more of his game than, maybe, most of us do. That confidence in himself will probably serve him very well. I wish him nothing but success in the coming year and beyond. Best of luck to him back at L'Ville. Hopefully he can help class up the joint.

Also, given that Louisville is now coached by Chris Mack, it's basically an entirely different regime. While it's certainly not common for this to happen, my guess is that if the Pitino people were still in place, Agau would not have transferred there. So in that sense, it's really not all that different than him transferring somewhere else. It's just weird because he had come from there initially.
Has anybody every transferred from a place, and then transferred back with the same original coach in place? That seems like it would be extremely uncommon/unlikely.

If he keeps pursuing grad degrees, can he just keep transferring and playing? I thought the grad transfer thing was a one-shot/one-year-only deal?

If he keeps pursuing grad degrees, can he just keep transferring and playing? I thought the grad transfer thing was a one-shot/one-year-only deal? According to this article, Agau received a waiver to play an extra season (similar to Bradley Hayes) at Louisville. While Hayes likely got the waiver because he barely played freshman year and his father had died his freshman year, it's unclear what the justification would be for Agau to keep playing. Notably, Agau did not actually get a degree at SMU. Personally, I don't like these sort of waivers, unless it's extremely extenuating circumstances. And this is nothing against Agau - I actually liked him a lot and was sad when he transferred. I am happy for him personally, it just seems like a bit of an abuse of the system (and again, I don't blame Agau for taking advantage of it).

Say what you want about Agau, but if this is really his 3rd degree then he milked college basketball for all its worth. He absolutely MAXIMIZED his academic opportunities....
