Why waste your breath speculating. What happens will happen. It's been a disastrous few years on the court. For those who clamored for change, this is the price. For those who resisted change--at least for another year--this is acceleration of a process that now appears to have been inevitable. Let's hope that the school made the right call on a coach and that he is making the right call on assistants and players.

Given how the team has played the last two seasons, it is hard to get too worked up about any transfers. We are starting from scratch, and anything we get out of any returning players is probably best viewed as a nice bonus. The future of the program lies with the incoming class of players and beyond. That probably means a couple of rough rebuilding seasons unless an unlikely number of things break our way, but that sometimes is the price of change.

Darryl Owens, Ashanti Cook, and Brandon Bowman played important roles in JTIII's first two seasons. I don't think we should be writing off players from last season's team.
I am sorry to see Akoy go. He seemed like a smart, hardworking player who made some important contributions. I wish him well.

That said, it shouldn't surprise anybody if people leave given the changing of the guard. People wanted a change, and usually change results in a step backward before moving forward, which often includes transfers. Unless unexpected things or improvements happen, our team is not going to be very good next year regardless of whether anybody else transfers, but I hope we retain the current roster.

I might be sick if he goes to UMCP.

I might be sick if he goes to UMCP. Meh. I mean, the guy came here from Louisville, sat out a year with an injury, gave us some occasional good minutes this past season, and decided to move on. We'll get his minutes from someone else, and he's not likely to have a significant impact no matter where he goes. He'll be a depth big guy for someone for a year. It's just that that someone won't be the Hoyas. Oh well. Not really worth all the hand-wringing in my opinion.

Visited Old Dominion in the past few days. Probably the best fit for him given his level of play.

Where did I demean Old Dominion compared to Georgetown? I was comparing it to some of the other programs mentioned (Illinois, Maryland, SMU specifically).

I get your point though. That is a strange finals list with Cal St. Northridge in it. Maybe there is a specific major he was looking at like engineering that Gtown doesn't have.

The coach at SMU seems to get a lot out of his players..
Best of luck to him..
