I thought NBA scouts regularly attended Portsmouth which is only 4 year players. I always thought in the psst that the Combine rarely invited the 4th year players as they were already given their chance at Portsmouth!

this is why you have to leave before your senior year. You get penalized for being a 4 year player because scouts and teams assume that there's something wrong with you for staying all 4 years (unless it's a consensus #1 like Duncan).

The combine is just for domestic players, right? There are always a number of foreign players picked (especially in the 2nd round), but I assume they don't fly them in for the combine. I don't think LJ made a bad decision for himself, and maybe the best thing for his life would be to play overseas. But he probably shouldn't get his hopes of being drafted up too high if he's only an alternate on this list. I believe there's a foreign NBA combine out in Europe. So yeah, no they don't get flown over here.

I hope it works out and he gets drafted and makes a roster. I am sure it was not an easy decision for him to leave early and getting drafted would help validate that decision.

The current Isiah Thomas was the last pick too. Lots of movement coming in the next few days.

LJ did not make it to the combine, looks like not enough of the guys who are locks stayed away.
Good luck to him in his one on one workouts, unfortunate he didn't make it because I think he would look good in a 5 on 5 atmosphere.

Looking at the measurements of some of the other SG/SFs at the Combine, I wish LJ would have gotten a firm invite. He could have compared favorably.

My sources within the Jazz organization said LJ shot the ball very well in his workout Sunday

LJ is working out for the bucks today, per twitter. Would be cool to see peak and Monroe on the same squad.

I'm happy to hear that he's getting looks but, unless I'm mistaken and assuming the Lakers take Lonzo, there's not a lot of room on that bench for LJ. I wouldn't expect LJ to make a roster right away anyway but don't the Lakers (again, assuming the Lonzo pick) have solid, young depth at the 2?

Too bad about the injury, hope it doesn't slow him down. I disagree about keeping quiet about it, just don't spend 1/3 of your interview (and the first question) on it. Good to hear that he has at least 15 workouts. Keep it up and he'll have a real shot although I wouldn't be surprised to see him start in the D-league (after summer league of course).
