It'll be up to their coach to see if he can right that ship. I think if they keep playing like this over the remainder they won't have a shot to do anything in NCAA's. I have to believe they have enough talent to get better and just need to figure out a new way to play without their best player but still won't be the same team. The Marquette loss can be overlooked due to 1st game without Watson and Marquette beat Villanova But how they look tonight, this game for the most part has been non-competitive. They are down double digits to a Hoyas team that has not beat anyone in the BE besides DePaul and St. Johns, one day short of a full year (Creighton Jan. 26, 2016) Alarm bells have to be going off for the Blue Jays faithful. So now we can flush the "no one but Depaul and St. John's" story line.

Good scoring game for Jessie. First one in a while. Defense? Not so much. Patton is good.

Yeah, it reminds me of when we lost Wright. It was later in the season, but I do feel bad for Creighton. I'm sure their fans were thinking about a legit FF case. Now, they look like a team that might not make the tourney.

Kind of don't care how we get wins at this point so I've suspended my sympathy for other Big East teams.

Low turnout tonight for this one. Where are all the Hoya haters?

That's fair. I'm happy we won, but I think Creighton was a good team with a legit chance and losing your best player to injury sucks.

The game plan works a lot better when players hit shots and make plays.

Without Watson Creighton became the kind of team we can beat, I.e. One that resembles us and revolves around a big man. Notice how difficult it was for their guards to dribble penetrate and either score, pass to an open man on the wing or get fouled. Give credit to our defense but no way we will look this good against our upcoming BE. Opponents. But maybe, just maybe we have improved to the point where we can truly compete against these guys.

Again, my overarching reaction is one of being happy for a bunch of young men who have had a tough and disappointing season. This is one more night they can go home after a game Happy and feeling good about their accomplishment. These guys are still kids and deserve that.

The game plan works a lot better when players hit shots and make plays. And when your opponent shoots 1-18 from 3.

Wow Creighton looks lost. Stinks for them, but any win for this group is worth celebrating. It's a good night for the Hoyas! Happy for the kids.

Of course, of all games, this game was not broadcast in NJ/NY. Very happy for the team, maybe this builds some confidence and leads to some fun games in the future. I hope the guys enjoy tonight and feel good about it.
And while I do recognize Creighton got an awful break, I agree with GIGA, I feel too good for our team to finally get a solid win to really worry about other's bad luck.

I have no sympathy for the Bluejays.
Extremely happy for the guys (and the home crowd) to get the W. Looking forward to tipoff on YES now.

And when your opponent shoots 1-18 from 3. So we played great perimeter defense!? Honestly, yeah. It may be just a byproduct of not having to worry about an extremely fast point guard, but very few of their looks from three were all that open. Hey, the effort was there. I'll take it.
