Kansas recruiting means him means he obviously has talent. But they aren't recruiting him the same way we are, nor should we think just because Kansas wants him means that he is a future pro.
Kansas wants him because transfers typically don't scare off recruits. They can add a quality piece without hurting them with recruits they are in position with. Meanwhile, we need warm bodies who can play.

Right, so your argument is if his maturity at age 23/24 after having gone through all that adversity that he has the same maturity, the same exact values and the same outlook on life that he had in high school. Okay cool just trying to get it straight. I don't fully understand your response. I'm not sure if sarcasm is implied or not so in my best Lil Jon voice I ask you.....WHHHHHAAAAAAATTTT? I just meant you have no idea what Pryor's values and priorities were coming out of high school just because he picked Georgetown 5 years later. A lot changes after you leave high school, especially for collegiate athletes so I'm not quite sure it follows that are Pryor and Cunliffe are necessarily different. TL;dr - all we know is what school they picked, not the reasons behind their decisions or even their full scope of options.

Your right Rock I have no idea what Pryor's values were coming out of high school and if you had read my previous post regarding this subject I never once said or implied I had any idea of Pryor's values. I spoke of Pryor's options. He could have valued the Kentucky 1 & done culture like so many other kids do or his dream school could have been Harvard but neither of those were an option to him. If they were, I don't think he would have gone the JUCO route. So because he had no other option at the D1 level, his values have no value in this conversation. I spoke about Cunliffe's values because as a top 40 kid, he had options that did include noted high academic Cal Berkley and in his own words, Cunliffe stated he choose Arizona State because (paraphrasing) he believed that Coach Hurley could get him to the NBA not because they had a strong science or business school.

I actually find that honesty from Cunliffe refreshing. These kids make basketball decisions 99.9% of the time. Academics are all-important if they commit to a prestigious school. But if the minutes or results aren't there for a top player? We've seen how important that top tier degree becomes... That's not an indictment of anyone, btw. If I had a chance at the NBA, I'd be laser focused on making that happen.

News just keeps getting better and better
@evandaniels
Sam Cunliffe will transfer to Kansas, he tells Scout/FOX Sports. Cunliffe averaged 9.5 PPG in 10 games at Arizona State this year.

kansas.rivals.com/news/why-did-cunliffe-give-the-nod-to-kansas-“The way Coach Self coaches his team and they’ve got a lot of talented players out at Kansas,” he added. “The way they move the ball and the way they are coached, and the way the players act, both on and off the court, it’s just something that I wanted to be a part of.”

Can't remotely blame the kid for going to Kansas on a theoretical level. Not sure if it was the right move for him given the talent already there. Time will tell.

Personally I'm not at all upset that we didn't get this kid, he had a lot of red flags and I'm not sure JT3 and his staff could have controlled his ego/demands. Also cannot at all blame a kid for picking Kansas over Georgetown given where both programs are at this point. Thought this quote was interesting, from the following article: In an interview with recruiting outlet JayhawkSlant.com, Cunliffe said KU coach Bill Self was “a big influence” on his decision, citing Self’s straight-forward approach and honesty. “I would say around midnight last night is when I really knew I was ready to make my decision,” Cunliffe told JayhawkSlant.com. “I just made my final decision this morning. The big thing for me was how much I talked to coach Self throughout this process. I talked to him so much and got to know him. When you get to know a coach, it makes it more special.” cjonline.com/sports/hawkzone/2017-01-07/ku-basketball-lands-arizona-state-transfer-sam-cunliffeLooking at KU's roster, who they already have coming in for 2017-2018 and who they are still recruiting, I'm pretty surprised Self would actually take Cunliffe's commitment. Will be interesting to see how it turns out.
