That last possession was the best I have seen the Hoyas look on the offensive glass all season. That was about 3 offensive rebounds before getting the basket.

What's up with Bradley? He's really struggling to finish right at the rim. He looks to be in great shape though.

You'd think we were losing with all the criticisms on this board. What's wrong with all of you?
I'm feeling good that I can just watch these games and what is supposed to happen with the score actually happens. As I've said before, I don't get too worried when we play better teams as we tend to show up. It's these let down games that we don't.

Good D followed by an almost slam by Mosley. Even though it didn't fall I like it.

This game was pretty much decided since the midway point in the first half. Since the game is not in doubt, you have to find something to nit pick about. And after last night when St. John's destroyed Syracuse-right now that win does not look as good as it should be.

Jesse has a great line: C 9-13 2-2 0-0 1 7 8 5 1 4 0 2 20
That is 20 points on 9/13 and 2/2 with 8 rb, 5 assists, 4 blocks.

One thing to love is how Marcus is finding his shot. It gives us 4 scorers.

Rebounding continues to be a huge issue but I'll take a 22 point win any day! Merry Christmas HoyaTalk!

Final Thoughts:
Another dominant performance. Govan 20 pts, Peak 16pts, Derrickson 15 pts lead the way After the first 10 mins or so in the 1st half the game was never in doubt.
Final Grade: A

If Jessie continues to face the basket on the perimeter this offense will be very tough to handle..

UNCG is a decent team that took a talented Wake Forest to the wire. Good win overall, really happy with Jessie's play. Hopefully this was a breakout game for him. Also Marcus' shooting is a good sign, and Jagan looks poised and calm. Biggest issues right now are rebounding and boxing out, which has been the story all season. If We improve on that, we'll make some noise in big east play.

Really good win for the simple fact that we defended a lot better in the half court (although rebounding continues to be a MAJOR concern). Did a nice job on rotations for the most part and ran them off the line to make them uncomfortable. When they did get to the rim, our bigs did a really nice job contesting everything. Plus, I don't think it can be understated that it's great to win when LJ and Rodney both had "off" scoring nights. Sure LJ finished with 16 but I don't think any of us would say he was on tonight. Continued confidence for Jessie and you can see his potential finally turning into production. And how about Marcus finding his shot?? HUGE for us moving forward. With those two playing better coupled with our two studs on the wing, we become very, very diverse and difficult to defend. Not to mention another quiet, but strong game for Jagan. Trending up at the right time heading into conference play. Kudos to III and the team for working and getting better the last few weeks. Needs to continue. Hoya Saxa

I wonder if our effort to deny UNCG and others the 3point shot is impacting our ability to get position for the defensive rebound. Is there a tradeoff? Or do we just suck at boxing out.

Kaleb's f/t stroke looks a little long to me...I think if he were to shorten it, say shoot more from his left shoulder as a starting point, he might become more consistent...his mechanics look good but he's often off the back iron...shorten/tighten the stroke a bit and he'll be fine...Note to my man, Bradley...don't shoot from the spot they GIVE you...get to YOUR spot, and the shots will fall...its all about the angles...and use the glass and bank it in when you have the right angle..from either side...GO HOYAS!

Well I feel better about them than I did in November, and better than I did about them this time last year. They are flawed and far from perfect but they have clearly put the effort in to improve and stick together.
Still a long way to though. Namely rebounding, as we all know. It's part band hands, part lack of instincts, part bad defensive positioning, and part lack of effort. They'll never be great, or possibly not even good in that area, but they can be better than they are.
