Wojo was pumped. I wish our coach had a pulse and ability to motivate.

Wojo was pumped. I wish our coach had a pulse and ability to motivate. Two great wins for Marquette. I think it just makes the season the Hoyas are having even more frustrating. Marquette is an OK team, but that is all it is from a talent perspective. I am not going to overrate the Hoyas talent level, but I can guarantee you that the talent on Marquette is not any better than the Hoyas talent level. I can't stand Wojo as a coach and his cheerleader act is tremendously annoying, but give credit where it is due. That team plays hard for the entire game, not matter how the game is going. For 3/4 of the game last night it looked like Nova was just the better team and would eventually pull away and win easy, but Marquette kept playing hard and competed for everything and were able to pull out a huge win. Too many times this year things start going badly for Georgetown and you see the players hanging their heads and looking dejected. Next thing you know we see a few bad shots and a couple of ugly turnovers and the game is completely out of hand. It is hard to work through tough times during games, but if you trust your coach and your system and keep working hard you should never get blown out in the conference, especially by a team like Providence.

SJU wins at Providence. Maybe JT3 can get a couple of pointers from Mullin on how to beat Providence. Don't look now but SJU is 4-5 in the BE.

This is the I'd like to see the Gtown staff recruit..
According to the post article St. John's has been on Walker for 3 months now.. Which means they were recruiting him even when they didn't have available scholarships for 2017..
Now that Sima has left & Zach Brown can't stop stealing they needed more front-court help next season.. Looks like they've gotten themselves in good shape for Walker..
If need be the transfer market will still be there for them this spring..

Yikes. I was watching game and it didn't seem as if the knee injury was too bad. But that view certainly indicates otherwise.
I think we have to beware of St John's. They gave Xavier a tight game (though admittedly the Sumner injury helped a bit). We got them on a bad night, and they had given up on themselves. They can be really explosive. Ponds, Lovett, and Owens are nice.

St John's is definitely improving and has some really good young players. The biggest issue with them is that are so young and make a lot of mental mistakes. If you can play a consistent game and make them earn all of their offense and not give them a lot of easy baskets in transition or off turnovers, you will benefit from some of their sloppy play and average defense. The Owens kid does a good job protecting the rim for them for an undersized player but they are a team the Hoyas should be able to exploit in the post.

Wow him and Watson that really sucks for the conference. Maybe both injuries help Gtown long term this season but I rather beat teams at full strength....

Feel terrible for both kids. Have to think this brings Sumner back to Xavier next year. Regardless, I wish a full, speedy recovery to both.

With Villanova's win over Virginia, the Big East's record vs the Power 5 football conferences is 28-18 this year.

Horrbile news for Sumner. I really liked him as a player.
But this is also why you don't give up on a season. More so in football but injuries are part of the game and often things can become a war of attrition and who can stay the healthiest all season and keep fighting. When we lost Freeman and Wright on separate occasions that tanked those teams.
It's all about being fortunate enough to be injury free and peaking at the right time.

Creighton up 4 at Butler at half. Maybe they can still pull it together.

Creighton up on Butler 72-59 with a little over 3:30 left. Creighton pulls it out without Watson...they'll have growing pains but Patton doesn't look bad.
