The article says that he is having back surgery in the next couple of days so that does qualify as a season-ending injury. This is news to me and it sounds serious, particularly for someone aspiring to a pro career. I really wish him the best. Back surgery couldn't be more vague but, hopefully, it's a minor issue for his sake. NCAA rules aren't really consistently applied to guys looking to extend eligibility but, considering Isaac played very little, why would the NCAA deny him the redshirt? It's not like they're a panel of doctors approving medical procedures. He's not playing and, as such, should be granted the extra time to play if he so chooses. Hell, we're the beneficiaries of a 24 year old Rodney Pryor. No one here is complaining about that. They should give Isaac the year. He seems like a good kid with a lot of talent that is trying to go about things the best way he can for his future as he sees it. Why would an organization that is, supposedly, looking out for the best interests of student-athletes be so inconsistent in doing the right things by them and selectively applying their so-called rules?

Want the best for the kid but the team seems to be cooking without him. Nothing else needs to be said.

Recent success and Copeland coming out of the lineup seem to be tied together. III probably stuck with Copeland playing big minutes longer than most coaches would. He stuck with him all through last seasons slide and 2nd half losing skid and the beginning of this season. At some point you had to try something different as Copeland wasn't working and competely lost his shooting touch.

Not to be mean-spirited but I can't see him playing at 3/4 of those schools...

That may be a little harsh. He has not shown Kansas-level talent the last year+, and I certainly have not seen the defensive intensity Shaka would demand - but you never know what a fresh start, and a renewed confidence, can do for a player who has some ability.

True. I just know he played SOFT for us and was a huge disappointment.

He had more game as a freshman, but certainly faded badly after that.

Not to be mean-spirited but I can't see him playing at 3/4 of those schools... It's hard to see him getting a lot of playing time at any of those schools unless he gets a lot better.

If the Bolden kid was able to go to K. St, I never thought for a second that Cope would finish @ a lower level school. Good for him!

I'd swap Copeland for Cunliffe.

All day long! Once Copeland lost his stroke, it was game over. He brought nothing else.

Best of luck to Isaac wherever he ends up. I hope his decision to transfer pays off for him.

I can't see him at Kansas, he just has not shown the willingness to outwork other good players to earn his minutes. Cincy and Texas are two places where the coaches demand you play with intensity, that might not work for Copeland. I could see him playing at UConn. I hope he finds a good fit for his skill set and has a productive end to his college career.

Nebraska, Uconn, Arizona State, or NC State I could all see. The other 3 not so much.
