Zone "em...there's a theory that teams who exclusively zone, don't like to be zoned...or is that teams that press...whatever, change it all up throughout and always stay one step ahead of 'em...Just beat the Cuse, or the Qrangemen or the Orange or whatever they call themselves now...At least Hoyas is original, and creative...why would anybody give their sports team a nickname of "The Orange"...guess it tells you everything you need to know.

Why is this away game during our Finals Week when last year's game was on Dec. 5th? IIRC this is a four-game series, with alternating home games. The 2017 and 2018 should be during the first week of December and not during Finals. Don't let Syracuse dictate terms.

Our guys just need to be ready and aware when the cuse shade the zone to Pryor or run that second man at him or even double team him (wings and corners) the others need to stay in attack mode, get to open spots, and the lane.

Their basketball players don't take exams. And terms were probably dictated by ESPN.

The good news is that in half court, we can keep Pryor and LJ on opposite sides of the court. That way, they collapse on one, then we get quick ball movement to the other side and whoever is there takes it to the hoop. Hopefully JT3 is pounding quick passes into the PG's heads (especially Tre).

If I remember correctly he had around 10 assists and the Hoyas won a big game. I believe it was 2011.

Definitely need the quick passes. You have to know Magoo has seen tapes of our games where we struggle under pressure--step out of bounds, throw it away, etc. If we can really be ready for those traps and that pressure, we will have a great shot. If the pressure gets to us like it did against Maryland and towards the end of the SU game last year, things could get ugly.

I said in the "next segment of the season" post several weeks ago that we needed to go 5-1 in the six games following Maui and before conference play to have a realistic chance of finishing where we need to finish. We've put ourselves in position to do that and can guarantee it today.
While certainly not one of the best versions of the Orange we've seen, a win against them has an outsized effect because they almost always (recently) get better as the year goes on and are able to knock off some top teams due to their style of play. So, beating them gives you a bit more bang for your NCAAT-qualification buck than would beating an equivalent team.
I think we're very, very well-suited to deal with the zone. We can put five guys on the court that all can shoot threes reasonably well if we want. We have guys who are adept at hitting the key mid-range J. Our passing is quite suspect, and that's a concern, but if we keep it out of the corners, I feel good about our chances.
Go out and get it, Hoyas!

The Georgetown website has incorrect info about the radio coverage. 106.7's Pete Medhurst just tweeted that the game will be on Bloomberg (WDCH) 99.1 FM.

I have arrived in Syracuse. 3 hours in the snow and sleet; that was heaven compared to this purgatory.
The density here is overwhelming and oppressive.
And there are a lot of people here too.

I would like to see Derrickson have a big game today. How about 14 points and 8 rebounds going 3 for 7 from 3?
