This is actually a really important game. If we don't want to be playing St. John's on Wednesday night , this game against Butler would be very handy. I realize we have lost 6 of 7, and the Xavier game was awful, but I am hopeful that the week break can give our guys a chance to practice and come out stronger. Also, winning 2 of 3 would guarantee our eligibility for the NIT. It might not be the NCAA tournament, but it's something worth fighting for. In terms of BET, I think important and handy are significant understatements! It is almost impossible to find a path to a bye to Thursday without this game Saturday.

My son will be there again with his small group of classmates adding to the "dozens" of students likely to be in attendance. Sadly this is his first year watching the Hoyas live and they are 4-7 in the games he has attended. Hopefully, there will be a crowd worthy of a program with the Hoyas tradition and ready to send off DSR, Hayes and Williams with a loud expression of gratitude. Each of these players deserves credit for their perseverance and dedication to the program.

I'll be there hopeful as always. I hope my subway ride home isn't as depressing as the Xavier/Seton Hall ones.

Maybe Ike's best shot but metrics don't lie and still an idiotic shot to take regardless even with hyberole. What's your point? Ike is shooting 28% from 3 - and even worse in Big East play. Watching the last 3-4 games it is unrebuttably clear that we are much better off having him shoot a 15 foot jumper than a 3 that has little chance of going in. Sounds like he's better off on the bench.

Sounds like he's better off on the bench. Or maybe taking 15 foot jumpers. He was our second leading scorer and second leading rebounder against Xavier. Doesn't sound like a guy we can afford to have on the bench right now.

I've been meaning to post this, but I could not make time to re-watch the Seton Hall and look for the following on-point comments by Stephen Bardo, of the in-game Fox Sports two-man crew, and Donny Marshall, of the halftime crew.
Stephen Bardo (@ 3:00 remaining in the 1st half, down 20+ pts):
"They're reeling (from Bradley's broken hand) a little bit. You've got to step up and play in mid-February. This is money time for every college basketball program that has any aspiration to get to the NCAA tournament. I've looked at D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, senior needing to step up and show some leadership in this situation...
I mean, in the spirit of Black History Month (February), every black kid my age if you were serious about playing basketball, you wanted to play for Georgetown, you wanted to be part of Hoya Paranoia. And, you know, to see them and the way they're playing right now is kind of unusual cause you're used to seeing them so aggressive and playing aggressively, not being on their heels. But right now it's just...the body language is just isn't good right now for Georgetown.
A lot of frustration right now between the players. No one grabbing everybody to get together, step up and say anything. They need leadership.
This is an unforgiving league. You go on the road in the Big East. You don't care that you lost your center to a broken hand and he's out. They don't care."
Donny Marshall (@ halftime):
"I'm looking at my notes and I put "DSR A.P.B., All Points Bulletin". Where are you? You're a senior, you're on the road, this is, we'll say, you know what cutting times, and you need to step up for your team and he hasn't stepped up. You gotta get your pistachios out on the floor and play some basketball. Your team needs you..."
From the coach on down:
BRING YOUR PISTACHIOS!!!

Now that relations with Iran are a little more open, maybe we can get some more pistachios.

Changing it up today with white unis: I like them. Hopefully that wasn't the only change the coaching staff came up with.

There seems to be a pretty sparse crowd there right now.

Wow Lykes must be dying to play in this offense...
Every game is like an advertisement on why you would want to play for our opponent...

5 straight turnovers, not a way to break out.

A rare time out at the 13:20 mark.
Same old results. What was this team doing over the last week?
