If he doesn't have the worst game of his career, we'd be up 25. He's a great Robin, totally miscast as Batman.

If he doesn't have the worst game of his career, we don't get valuable experience for Peak at the point and lots of minutes for Kaleb. Add in the pressure to score for a ton of other guys.

Jesus. We won. We won with DSR not playing well. That's a positive not a negative.
And let's not minimize how valuable it is to have a guy that can get fouled late in games and make them. I know he missed the early ones, but still.

He was playing sort of "in between" as the announcers said. Normally with the hand off up top he uses that space to hit the three pointer. He seemed to hesitate in places tonight. And he wasn't even sure of his devastating never dribble the ball and swish a foul shot in the earlier part of the game. I'm sure he is as frustrated as we are watching him. He loves playing in the Garden and leading the team. I'm predicting a break out of the funk game tomorrow after he downs some Rays and a potato knish.

I know he missed the early ones, but still. He didn't really even play that poorly. He shot poorly, but that's completely different. He got a few key rebounds and dished four gorgeous assists -- they weren't cheapies -- and had another one or two that weren't converted by the bigs.

I don't think he played well overall. But the point is that we can survive that.

To me i just hope Sunday is like the last 3 years. 4 to 5 times a year DSR has that make everything type games where he gets 30. Hopefully playing Duke brings one out.

This isn't the first time DSR has had a slow start to the season. Thankfully, he's also got a track record of being a really, really good college player. Hopefully the DSR we're all used to seeing the majority of the time comes to the Garden on Sunday. I'm thinking (OK, hoping) he will.

My lord some of you people are crazy. DSR has been just fine this season. I'm not entirely sure how a 12/5/4 line with 1 TO and 3 steals in 33 minutes is "not playing well". He shot poorly from the field, yes. It happens to the best shooters (except for Steph Curry, who is in full-on video game mode, but I digress) and the games where he drops 25+ and shoots the lights out are certainly coming. Last year, we were killing him early on for many of the same reasons. And then he dropped 29 on a loaded Wisconsin team on Thanksgiving and damn near dragged the rest of our dead weight to an upset victory. Here's hoping he has a similar performance today, we pick up the W, you trolls are forced back under your respective bridges.

If DSR has to carry the team this year, we are in trouble. We have so many weapons, we could litelarly have 9 or 10 different guys leading us in scoring in different gamed. The last thing we want is one guy that the opponent can shut down to hamstring our entire offense. This team is finding its way, and will be a nightmare to face come March.

If DSR continues to put up points in the teens and drawing defenders, great. If they start to sag off of him because he hasn't shot as well as last year yet, that's great too. Just keep the TO's down, the assists up and get a few effort rebounds and all of the points are gravy. He's having a slow-ish start (again) and will continue to do DSR things and he will hit big shots because that's what he does. He's had similar stretches when he hasn't been as quick to fire and has come out of them. He'll do it again. I'm not worried in the least about him. I wish all Hoya players "off games" were as "bad" as DSR's.

I was at the Duke game and kept track of the margin in the second half. Except for the last minutes the Duke margin grew with him on the floor and contracted with him on the bench. Just saying.
