I bet Marquette is better than the #46 team in the country next year. Fisher's a nice player, Ellenson will be a star; it will just matter if any of the guards can step up. They might be but they will have little opportunities to prove it. Their schedule is horrible... smh True. Someone needs to talk to the floor-slapper.

It probably makes sense for them to schedule wins, given all the change in the program. But their schedule is pathetic.

They basically scheduled themselves onto the bubble. They didn't even schedule good cupcakes 8 teams on their schedule won 10 games or less last season... Smh

Is it me or are our beloved Hoyas one of if not the most slept on team entering this season. Can't believe we are not getting a lot of Top 25 love from any of the polls as we get closer to the beginning of the season. Here is a link to CBS Rankings that has UNC ranked #1, twerps #4, duke #7, and one of the biggest shock of their rankings besides Vanderbilt and Miami (FL) in the top 25, is Wisconsin at #17. Here is Garry Parrish's reasoning for Wisconsin's #17 Ranking... " The Badgers lost five of their top seven scorers from a team that beat Kentucky in the Final Four and played for the title. But they didn't lose their coach, Bo Ryan. And that's the biggest reason why they're ranked and likely on their way to a 15th consecutive top-four finish in the Big Ten."
IMO, Garry Parrish of CBS Sports is taking a shot at JT3's Coaching ability if he will include Wisconsin in his top 25 and say it's mostly because of Bo Ryan. I guess we will get an opportunity to prove everyone who are sleeping on the Hoyas wrong in the first 10 days of the season.

These polls are all hype but I do agree that there are some pretty flaky judgement in Parrish's Top 25.

Flying under the radar can be a good thing, especially for a young team.

www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/butler/butler-insider/2015/10/18/butler-basketball-chrabascz-and-wideman-scorers-too/74188522/Ten takeaways: >> Kellen Dunham and Roosevelt Jones are deservedly Butler’s two preseason All-Big East selections. But the offense is not confined to them. Tyler Wideman has improved his mid-range shooting (he was 4-of-7 and scored 10 points). Andrew Chrabascz remains an all-over-the-floor threat, and he led all scorers with 20 points on 8-of-9. Wideman almost certainly will be a starter. Incidentally, both Wideman and Chrabascz look leaner. These Bulldogs appear to be very fit. (See below for more on Dunham.) >> Point guard Tyler Lewis, the transfer from North Carolina State, is as advertised. The only things that surprised me were his quickness (a good thing) and slight frame (potentially a bad thing in a bruising conference). He scored nine points on 3-of-6 and collected at least four assists. >> It will take time for players to adjust to officiating. In the first four-minute segment, the Blue team accumulated eight fouls. Foul calls diminished significantly thereafter. >> Team defense was respectable so early in the preseason. Coach Chris Holtmann was more critical. “Overall, we don’t have a good enough team defensive approach. We just don’t,” Holtmann said. “That’s a major concern.” Defense inevitably was going to be a concern following graduation of Kameron Woods and Alex Barlow. Even some of Butler’s best defensive teams weren’t necessarily stout early in the season.

Saw this in SI, and it was news to me. Are they moving the Big East Championship game to Fox? I assume they'd keep Friday night on FS1. Seems like they are putting a lot more games on Fox this year overall. I assume that's good for us in terms of exposure.
"Fox Sports, including FS1, will air 300 men’s and women’s college basketball games this season, including the Big East, Pac-12, Conference USA, Big 12 and Ivy League. That schedule includes championship games for the Big East (men and women), Pac-12, Conference, Ivy League men and Big 12 women. The network said the Big East Men’s Basketball Tournament will air on broadcast television for the first time since 1995. FS1’s basketball schedule tips off Nov. 13, with Chris’s Mullin’s first game as St. John’s head coach (hosting Wagner at 6 p.m. ET)."

Always loved prime time in the Garden.

3 Places where this is spot on: "Fox Sports still can’t get it right digitally. Chromecast capability and archived games – please make it happen. On television, it’s still a good product and the hire of Steve Lavin is an excellent one." "The niceties are over. New rivalries that have had seeds planted continue to grow, notably – Xavier vs well..maybe everyone vs Xavier? Does anyone like them?" "D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera leads the conference in scoring..." And the one place where it is totally OFF: No mention of Marcus Derrickson. Not on All Rookie - come on, Justin Patton? - and just not mentioned anywhere. The world is sleeping on our freshmen, and I like it!
