I agree that Utah was the better team but I have to ask how many elite players does Utah have besides Delon Wright? IMo Dsr is a good College player but he’s not “elite”. Dsr is a good guard but there’s 20 or so kids just like him. Not a knock just being truthful. Wright is a NBA first rounder. Utah shot 58% from the Field and 57% from 3. What did you guys want/expect to happen when a very good team is that hot from the field? I kinda agree with you about DSR Yaboy but I'd say he's a very good college player.. Wright is a great college player with NBA type athleticism but the rest of the Utah's team is made up of fundamentally solid players who can ALL shoot from deep.. This makes them a tough out..

Are you changing the nature of the question you asked? You said how many “Could” start for Georgetown correct? If Tre Campbell “could" start for Georgetown than so could the players I’m speaking of. Wright could start next to DSR and so could Taylor with ease. Wright would be the best player on our team ... The context of the question is the way Etomic B answered... To clarify the question is: How many players on Utah do you believe could start over the Hoyas lineup last night? Based on your answer above, I take it that there are 2 Utah players that would be able to start for the Hoyas. Correct me if I am wrong. You are wrong…. 4 of the 5 Utah starters, everybody except Reyes would start over the GTOWN player at their position. Ike would start over Reyes. Since you brought up DSR he would NOT start over Wright. Taylor would start over Tray etc Was last night the first time you have seen Utah play Just in?

I think if the rosters were combined, I might start:
Wright / DSR / Loveridge / Poetl / Smith, with Taylor, Trawick and Copeland as the key subs. If you don't want to play big, than I suppose Copeland would get the start at PF with Poetl starting over Smith.

I get the change in rules. But let's also be real...talent is also a factor. Roy is a two time NBA All star center. He finished second in NBA Defensive Player of the year to Noah last year. Jeff Green was a high lottery pick who has started in the NBA for several years. Senior year Simms was an All BE player who is a decent NBA player and finally..not mentioned in the post, was Greg M..who was also able to stay out of foul trouble. I think its fair to say that these guys are light years above josh and Hop. That is not a slap at our two current guys...just a fact. Roy gets in foul trouble in the NBA with 6 fouls. Sims fouled out against NC State in the tourney. All it takes is one or two more foul due to the rule changes and someone who avoided foul trouble would be in foul trouble in the college game. Prof...of course they would get in foul trouble on occasion...but not EVERY SINGLE game . Better players are better at avoiding foul trouble. IF you wish to put all the blame on refs and new rules...we have a major difference of opinion. (not that there is anything wrong with that!)

Watching Kaminsky. He never hacks if he gets beat and he never gets stupid reaching in fouls. So much smarter than our big men.

Well, he, and not Smith nor Hopkins, is going to be the National Player of the Year. That's a difficult comparison for almost any other center in college. . .and some in the NBA.

True. But we didn't need a POY center to beat Utah or Xavier this year. A Henry Sims would have been enough.

We lost to them in the tournament btw Senior year Sims playing the 5 on this years squad would have been deadly for opponents.. Henry had the ability to knock down foul line extended jumpers but even more importantly his passing out of the post was tremendous.. He was better defensively also.. The team would have been the best team in the NBE and a 2 seed at worst

I always felt that JTIII should have red-shirted Henry Sims that 1st year or 2nd year as he barely played. The 2013 team that lost to FGCU really needed Henry Sims as that would have avoided JTIII using Nate Lubick as a defacto Center.

There is no evidence to the contrary.

There is no evidence to the contrary. Even if Henry did foul out the team would still have Josh and/or Hop to back him up both are better options than the 2011 team had.. I know it's all hypothetical but it's hard to argue that this year's team wouldn't have been better with Sr year Sims..

Maybe in that scenario we don't get Josh to transfer and we have another DSR
