This is too funny coming from the guy that is getting into it nearly every week with somebody different. At some point shouldnt you maybe consider that maybe the problem is you? In about three years of posting here I've never gotten into one of these dumpster fire threads until now and it isnt pretty. But even before this week, if you had asked me who the two most psychologically unbalanced posters here based on their constant infighting with other posters I'd have said Rock and KC easily. No surprise you're both the ones constantly pointing fingers, and I guess its my turn now. Anyway, why don't I grant you your wish Rock-- I'll bounce from the board so it can continue being run by the same insular group that has about as much chance at self-reflection as they do considering a viewpoint that doesnt fit their Gtown basketball worldview. Happy trails...

I'm new, so don't know the folks you're battling, but why not just move on from this discussion...but still stick around. There will be plenty more to discuss in the coming months.

I'd buy one of those throwbacks right now FWIW...and I confess to liking them every so slightly more knowing that DFW appears to hate them. Aww, you should no better than that. The amount of posts who make claim on this boards about what I "appear" to say is somewhere less than the number of posts on ballroom dancing or asking when Latavious Williams is coming to Georgetown...but not by much. So here's what I will say about it: a clean look, but not a throwback to any specific Georgetown jersey by font or number style. All well and good, but it is not the 1992-93 jersey, the 1982-83 jersey, or even the 1972-73 jersey Thompson used for one season:</P> My point: great sports brands don't need to change its look. The Yankee pinstripes are powerful because it's lasted from Gehrig to Jeter. So too to Dodger Blue, Cardinal Red, and the classic look of the Red Sox (excepting those mid-70's pullovers). Teams without a tradition like the Astros, Brewers and Padres seem to change their look like clockwork. Celtic green and Laker gold are intangible assets of those franchises (as opposed to, say, the Denver Nuggets). Would anyone want Les Habitants to change sweaters every two years? In college ball, Carolina has had three basic jersey styles since the mid-1950's. The look at Indiana and UCLA are timeless--excepting a few years when UCLA wore "BRUINS" across its jersey, the UCLA blue and gold looks a lot like it would if Alcindor and Walton were still around. And yet, not counting one-offs, Georgetown has had 17 different jersey changes in 33 years (the current look is a mirror of the unis from two years ago). Ewing, Mourning, Iverson, Sweetney, Hibbert...none wore the same jersey style. www.hoyabasketball.com/history/jerseys.htm So yes, it would have been something if Georgetown could have stayed with the classic Ewing look. But it didn't happen, and that's life. Saturday's jersey? No problem for me. Just a point of order, but the Brewers have really only changed looks 3 times in their 45 year history.

Part of the problem is people like you obsessing over which anonymous poster said what and when it was said and trying to determine their character by a few occasional posts on a board that really does not represent what this big world has to offer. learn to live without being so angry at everything. This is my last response though I can't tell if I'm talking to an adult or a 10 year old kid who has a severely outdated Merriam-Webster anymore..

Denny had a lot of great insight, he'll be especially missed on the recruiting board where he shared a lot of interesting information on the local HS scene..

I saw where this was going seven pages ago, and when I tried to steer the conversation in a different direction, I was shouted down. It's regrettable that it got to this point.
Hopefully, after a "cooling off" period, Denny will lurk, and then return to posting.

Nice try but this is not a problem you can lay at the Moderators' feet. The problem arises when posters here use overly aggressive and belittling language about other posters in their need to have the very last word in a discussion. Locking a senior day game discussion thread isn't going to stop that. Of course, if we locked the thread we'd start hearing the usual complaints about repression of free speech.

He left on his own, and I hope he reconsiders. Just say, "OK, Rock", or whomever, and keep moving. I must admit that I will never understand the calls for censorship over issues like this.

Dan won't say it but he was preoccupied with the piece on the Pro & College board wherein a local columnist holds a grudge twenty years after the fact because Coach Cal didn't invite him to his pajama party. All arguments seem reasonable after you read a Shaughnessy piece.

It's endlessly entertaining, regardless of whether you agree with his point of view.

My request was mostly in jest. It was just a waste of 1s and 0s to follow that back and forth and added nothing of substance to the Senior Day discussion. That's why I waited so long before even mockingly suggesting that the thread be locked.

Putting aside the fact that he was 100% correct on both of his points (ie it would have been better if we gave SH a bucket and Jabril didn't go in for the dunk at the end), I got the sense from his posts (and a single PM I received from him) that denny played the game at a level beyond high school. Too bad to lose that perspective.

And that's the point, that participants can disagree and the world is not going to end. I liked Denny's posts as well, but whatever. If he allowed himself to be driven off the board due to an argument with a certain poster with whom 95% of Hoyatalk usually disagrees, then he either didn't want to be here in the first place or he is awfully thin-skinned. And it was just more of the same nonsense on closing anyway -- the need to insult the entire Hoyatalk community like it is some monolithic monstrosity ("the same insular group that has about as much chance at self-reflection as they do considering a viewpoint that doesnt fit their Gtown basketball worldview"). Again, whatever...

Also, this is the saddest departure since RDF took his dungeonball and went home for good. Fare thee well, dennis.
