I'm a fan of his clips and a fan of hid GPA too.. He reminds me of the Elliot kid who's a frosh @ Marquette & playing good minutes.. I hope the staff kicks the tires.. highschoolsports.al.com/news/article/-3938043763488355550/myreon-jones-states-top-ranked-2018-basketball-recruit-leaves-huffman/Jones entered this summer with a 4.4 GPA and was on track to become Huffman's 2018 valedictorian. This summer, Jones has earned increased recruiting interest as a member of the Georgia Stars. Penn State is near the top of the list of interested schools. Other schools include Tennessee, Ole Miss, Wake Forest, Clemson and Colorado State, as well as Wofford, Fordham, South Alabama and Northern Kentucky. Just noticed his Lincoln Prep team is playing in the Governers challenge at UMES this weekend. They also have a 2019 big that's getting some HM looks fwiw. Justin Lewis (Poly), Ricky Lindo, and a few other kids with Hoya offers, or interest are playing in that tournament also. Lindo (Wilson) plays Jones and Lincoln Prep tomorrow.

Don't really consider LeBlanc a big at 6'7. Carter is a strech four like Derrickson. We need a true center. With mourning available next yr they may just hold the schlarship till 2019 for a big man. Also I don't see Malinowski playing major mins next yr. Just my opinion. We already have Pickett and Johnson as well as LeBlanc with some mins at the SF spot. Mosley, Blair and McClung will also get some shooting guard mins. Chris Sodom was a "true center" but he was half of being a good one. Leblanc may not be a center but he can be an effective big better than other true centers. height is one thing but in college its how you effectively play within the system that determines your success, tyler hansbrough was just 6'8 but he was the best at one point. Shaq Morris is just 6'8 as well but he is a good one.

Seems pretty athletic to me. But is he a true pg...? Not that I've seen, but most PG's that come into HM ball aren't. There were only 7 players who averaged more than 5 assts a game in EYBL play. His asst avg (4.2) would put him in the top 20.... I like the highlights of the Jones kid and think he could be a good college player, but he is a 2 guard with a good athleticism, good looking shot and a good enough handle for high school, which is no different than Mosely or Blair, except Jagan doesn't shoot it as well. No disrespect to the player but if the Hoyas want to find a true point guard I don't think he would be the answer. Hard to believe they can't find a solid PG for next year. As hard as they seem to be recruiting these days I think they either have identified a few options, or will in the near future, and will add that piece to the team next year.

That's not exactly true imo, but ok.... He's the only one of those players that played on ball for his travel team. It's hard to find "true" point guards at the HS level you have to identify tools and develop them. He's a prospect who could pay off down the line (Soph and beyond), just needs polish. Signing and developing a player like him doesn't exclude you from getting an impact guy for next year. We have 3 open scholarships, it's not a one or the other situation.

I reiterate, what wrong with Markquis Norwell? I think the correct answer is nothing. Of course his size is going to get knocked but it shouldn't because he appears to already be able to add to this team what our current point guards cannot. I mean Rousey was a prime example last night that height means nothing if you can play. I think him and McClung could play together. I see alley oop after alley oop with his vision and McClung's athleticism.

TJ Moss would be another kid worth a look... Pretty sure Kirby knows of him. He transferred to Findley Prep to play the pg position and has performed well. Nice size for the position also. HM offers...
Devonaire Doutrive also...
Here's a recent writeup on Doutrive
Reminds me of the kid from Xavier, Edmond Sumner...

I reiterate, what wrong with Markquis Norwell? Nothing, but I think we could use two of these guys, and we aren’t guaranteed to get any of them so it’s worth talking about all of them.

EJ Montgomery: Given the fact that Montgomery has barely talked about his recruitment since October, no one seems to know where individual schools stand. Georgetown has been after him hard as of late, as has USC. He'll likely wait until the spring to make his final decision, which gives Blue Bloods like UK and Duke plenty of time to jump into the race too with open scholarships. I still feel like this is a long shot just based on the competition we'll face, but if Montgomery is looking for a coach that can get him ready for the league as fast as possible, then Wake could be in this until the end. Stay tuned here. www.bloggersodear.com/2017/12/18/16787336/wake-forest-basketball-recruiting-mailbag-key-targets-analysis-and-updatesRecruitment: Clemson, Georgia Tech, Florida State, N.C. State, North Carolina and Wake Forest among others involved. Why he's trending up: One of four five-star big men left in the class of 2018, Montgomery was once committed to Auburn before backing off in the wake of the federal investigation into college corruption. As a senior he's added some strength and most of all he's left the motor running at a high level all game long. He can face and shoot, he runs the floor, he's the ideal new age big man. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/bossi-s-best-stock-up-10-high-school-seniors-who-ve-impressed-this-seasonE.J. Montgomery has and will face tougher competition than what he saw against Pace Academy, but it was still impressive to see him do what he did. He can score over either shoulder on the block and doesn’t really let contact faze him. He also runs the floor in transition as well as any post player in the country, and he routinely finishes with dunks. Clemson, Georgetown and Georgia watched him Thursday night. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/highlights-of-the-two-holiday-week-events-played-in-the-atlanta-area

If we were to land both Bowen and Tucker, would ESPN revise our 2017 class ranking?😉

Brian bowen alone would make our ranking better. he is a top 10 talent coming out of highschool. The kid is an improved version of pickett on both sides of the court but i dont know if we are high on him since he was supposed to go to dukes and north carolina's of the world.

If we were to land both Bowen and Tucker, would ESPN revise our 2017 class ranking?😉 No, because the rankings for Bowen and Tucker would retroactively plummet!

Does anyone know for certain if we're recruiting Brian Bowen. If I was Moses Brown or EJ Montgomery...i'd get on the Hoya Train quickly.
