I haven't seen anywhere that lists us as a finalist with Moses Brown--is this talk just because he is available, or is there some information that we have a chance with him?

He mentioned that PE has been talking to him lately and that Gtown may get a visit.. There's good info on pages 78 & 79 of this thread..

Is he a day 1 starter, major contributor or select minutes type? Moses Brown? Day one major contributor. Lottery pick. Big time talent.

We recruited him over the summer, but really didn't have the room for him since we already had Dickerson, Molsey, Blair and Mulmore.

Right but I think he did a 5 yr post grad cause he didn't get the offer that he wanted. He had mostly majors on him. Others schools along with us probably wanted him to do another yr of school. Kid can play though. Quick, nice handles, can shoot it.....

Staff might want to take a look at Myreon Jones... 6'3 PG/CG out of Alabama
Put up good numbers on a bad Georgia Starz team 15.1 ppg 4.5 assts 3 rbds. Only played 8 games in EYBL and probably would have better offers but he did most of his work during he dead period when coaches couldn't watch.
Played well at BOTS (live event) and was named a standout. 247 had him ranked a 5 star out of nowhere in the Spring, think they have him in the top 100 still, but he's not ranked anywhere else. Transferred to a prep school in Georgia and has put up pretty big numbers against better competition. Played on some off brand AAU teams before this summer
Bama was sniffing but they're +1 on committed players (Sexton likely leaving)...
Maybe he's undervalued, maybe he's really not that good. I haven't seen him so can't say, but since we have 3 open scholly's and a need at the guard position he might be worth a look....

EJ Montgomery: Given the fact that Montgomery has barely talked about his recruitment since October, no one seems to know where individual schools stand. Georgetown has been after him hard as of late, as has USC. He'll likely wait until the spring to make his final decision, which gives Blue Bloods like UK and Duke plenty of time to jump into the race too with open scholarships. I still feel like this is a long shot just based on the competition we'll face, but if Montgomery is looking for a coach that can get him ready for the league as fast as possible, then Wake could be in this until the end. Stay tuned here. www.bloggersodear.com/2017/12/18/16787336/wake-forest-basketball-recruiting-mailbag-key-targets-analysis-and-updatesRecruitment: Clemson, Georgia Tech, Florida State, N.C. State, North Carolina and Wake Forest among others involved. Why he's trending up: One of four five-star big men left in the class of 2018, Montgomery was once committed to Auburn before backing off in the wake of the federal investigation into college corruption. As a senior he's added some strength and most of all he's left the motor running at a high level all game long. He can face and shoot, he runs the floor, he's the ideal new age big man. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/bossi-s-best-stock-up-10-high-school-seniors-who-ve-impressed-this-season

Is a Fletcher McGee clone available?
If a school like Wofford can find a guy like this, we should be able to. It's not like he was a complete late bloomer either, made 91 3s as a freshmen.
Next year hoping Malinowski can help fill in.

I like Malinowski a lot as a shooter he has a quick release, we just have to find a guy that can get him the ball into his sweet spot kind of like trae young and manek from the sooners... his passing is impeccable

Is that correct? The difference is between having two and three scholarships still available for next season. Team needs at least one pg, one ready to play big and anyone else (g/f) who can shoot from the outside.

Don't really consider LeBlanc a big at 6'7. Carter is a strech four like Derrickson. We need a true center. With mourning available next yr they may just hold the schlarship till 2019 for a big man.
Also I don't see Malinowski playing major mins next yr. Just my opinion. We already have Pickett and Johnson as well as LeBlanc with some mins at the SF spot. Mosley, Blair and McClung will also get some shooting guard mins.

I'm a fan of his clips and a fan of hid GPA too.. He reminds me of the Elliot kid who's a frosh @ Marquette & playing good minutes.. I hope the staff kicks the tires.. highschoolsports.al.com/news/article/-3938043763488355550/myreon-jones-states-top-ranked-2018-basketball-recruit-leaves-huffman/Jones entered this summer with a 4.4 GPA and was on track to become Huffman's 2018 valedictorian. This summer, Jones has earned increased recruiting interest as a member of the Georgia Stars. Penn State is near the top of the list of interested schools. Other schools include Tennessee, Ole Miss, Wake Forest, Clemson and Colorado State, as well as Wofford, Fordham, South Alabama and Northern Kentucky.

Seems pretty athletic to me. But is he a true pg...? Not that I've seen, but most PG's that come into HM ball aren't. There were only 7 players who averaged more than 5 assts a game in EYBL play. His asst avg (4.2) would put him in the top 20....
