I don't know why people think Hayes not playing is some giant thing. He's not good enough right now to earn time. That's all, folks. Thank you for informing us all, but I would rather hear what's going on from someone in the know.

It's not how many are scheduled, it's how many have been played when you request the medical redshirt. He's played four of seven games so far. Of course, you request the redshirt after the season is over (or even at the beginning of what would be his fifth year) so this is not an issue. The bigger issue here is that Hayes' injury is obviously not keeping him from playing. I don't know why people think Hayes not playing is some giant thing. He's not good enough right now to earn time. That's all, folks. Earning meaningful minutes is one thing but not being able to earn blow-out time is ridiculous to me.. Govan will have a ton of pressure on his shoulders next season..

I'd bet to most of the press, asking about the third or fourth string center is almost a non-sequitur. Or at least self-evident.

We have a huge game against Kansas this week. What do you think is more important, getting Hayes minutes or getting our better players more experience playing together?

It isn't a true game thread if there aren't at least two pages devoted to playing time issues for our third-string center.
Candidly, if this is the most controversy that we can muster on this board as to this season's Hoyas, it will be a great season.

After two losses in our last two games, the Hoyas took care of business today versus a seriously over-matched opponent. OK, that's good, but it was expected. Glad to see the entire team playing well and winning this one as a team.
The real test comes Wednesday. OK, but as they say on all those GEICO ads, "everybody knows that". Well, it's time to show everyone who we are. We beat #18 UF. COULD have won that game vs. #2 Wisconsin. Lost to # 23 Butler (another game we could have won), supposedly outplayed #7 UVA in that pre-season scrimmage. Are we really a top 25 team that can beat another top 25 team like #11 Kansas? At home? On Wednesday we will find out.
Let's go Hoyas - this is a GREAT opportunity to show the nation just how good you are!

What you and etomic seem to care about on a Georgetown message board does not come even close to a media member should ask. That applies to what I want to ask, either. It's not happening because there's really not a lot of interest.
The rest of us are watching to see if the freshmen can grow up quickly enough to become a truly dangerous team. But keep beating the weird Hayes drum! I'm sure the extra four minutes of game time will make all the difference! I'm sure Thompson's evaluation of literally hundreds of hours of watching Hayes play can't possibly justify his decisions, and if Ben Standig would just ask him, he'd see the error of his ways, Hayes would get that extra four minutes and he'd be an All-American next year!
EDIT: At least just start a Hayes thread so you can comment there instead of making the focus of a massive blowout where Paul White went 3-4 from three into whether or not Hayes got one minute or six.

Hey, and if you don't like the subject of a post, you can skip it. Don't feel the need to respond if you don't care about it.

Hey, and if you don't like the subject of a post, you can skip it. Don't feel the need to respond if you don't care about it. Yes, like everyone else, I am stating an opinion on a message board. And that opinion is that the reason why the media does not ask about Hayes is that very few people care about his PT in a blowout. That's my guess. It's an educated one, logical. And there's probably the added reason that I bet we could all craft JTIII's response right now, and it's not going to be particularly insightful. Just as I am welcome to ignore your posts, you're welcome to ignore mine. But at least mine are generally relevant to the thread at hand.

If Paul White is really that good of a 3-pt shooter, he's going to be devastating good.

Wait...did a guy fall down defending Josh That was Montreal Canadien-ish - 2 minutes in the box for embellishment (or a yellow card for Italian soccer diving if you prefer). Let me know the next time you see a yellow card for diving. It will be the equivalent of a unicorn siting.

Great win today. Long stretches are always scary and we came away with a big win. Team looked great and most importantly we saw stretches of good defense. If we keep that up I have big expectations for this team.
That said, our half court offense is not quite there of teams prior. Granted it is still early and I don't have any major concerns about our offense...minus turnovers but I've learned to accept this under III.
Even though Peak is not putting up points like he did to start the season I like his all around play. He may have a few great drives each game but I need to temper expectations that he will takeover games this season.
I have bashed Hopkins in the past but he is playing a good role this year. I've been very pleased with his play so far.
I thought Trey got some needed minutes because this was not his best game. He needs to grow into this team and I fully believe he will.
White had another good game. He is so smooth and looks even better in person than on TV. He is going to be special.
I will stop talking about players as I could say good things about all of them. All around good game and I didn't walk away upset with the play of anyone player.
