It's ALL about the midfield today. Control the play, win the game. Bradley can redeem his tepid play to date with a strong game. And having Josy even for a short stint will give us enough striking ability to get it done. 2-1 USA. Dempsey and Bradley with the goals.

Josy really can't play today. Too risky to use a sub on him. Very unlikely he is 100% and 98% isn't good enough from him. And let's not forget that Belgium is unlikely to be terrified by a striker who had a terrible season at a low level EPL club last season.

I think the best option for Jozy to play (if he does) is to start and then sub him off. I agree that bringing him in in the 2nd half and then his hammie does, we wasted a sub or worse play with 10.

I could deal with starting him with a very firm understanding that he had to be selling out at 100% from the word go and if he didn't have it he would be mature enough to basically take himself off. Only he will know if he's not 100%.

Like GU, the US staff doesn't release much info, unless it's Klinsy playing with the media. Who knows how bad the injury was or how it was treated. All I know is, having suffered a hamstring injury playing soccer, that injury is a bit@h. Of course, I didn't have a full medical staff massaging and treating mine, so it could happen...

So, if Altidore doesn't play today, we can all safely assume it's because he missed a final? Sorry. Too soon?

No, he missed a flash mob final.
Going off line trying not to find out the score until watching it with my brother later tonight.
Go Go USA!

Hopefully we figure out a way to develop strong defenders in the next 4 years. Bedoya and Cameron are embarrassingly slow AND weak.

Wondo had it. But, things happen. Cannot blame it on one play, but still...
Future is bright. The US needs to continue to develop talent. Next cycle I want to see two strikers playing together, be it Green, Johansson, Altidore, Boyd and other unknown forwards at this time who will emerge from the pack like it always happens. Continue working on finding that key midfielder like Reyna who will control and touch the ball both ways, and the defenders to play like JK wants. Yedlin will be key going forward. Finally, pray national treasure Howard is still around for the next cycle (although Guzan is pretty good too).

We will be strong in goal with either. And we are on the right track going forward. We just need more depth and control.

We made it this far with Howard and heart. Great ride.
Credit to Jürgen Klinsmann's subs as Julian Green scores. Wish Beckerman played to shore up the D and of course wish Wondo was able to steal it at the end.
Grit and hard work only get you so far. A bit more skill on the ball and another attacker can get us the rest of the way.

Sent. The second one is mostly an interactive picture so not much I can do there.
