That's a great story and, as a fan that has been known to waste a fair amount of time watching YouTube clips of Hoyas of the past, I thank you for making the material available. Strangely, there is almost no footage of Victor out there that is easily searchable.

Raymond Felton is another name from South Carolina. He did pretty well for little Latta, SC... he dismantled Dematha single handedly one time. If Peak is a better prospect than Felton we're in good shape.

The importance of Peak's ability to attack the basket is even more important if the referees continue to call fouls as strictly as they did last year. We have really lacked players who can drive to the rim and draw fouls over the last several years (Chris Wright tried, but often had trouble because of his size, Trawick can be good at times, but hasn't been the focus of the offense enough to make a big difference), which hurts, especially when the other team is racking up free throws and our guys are not.
I have no idea how good a free throw shooter Peak is, but the fact that he might be able to get to the line with a fairly high level of frequency could be really important for us.

Even if Peaks is a bad free throw shooter it still changes the dynamics of the game. When a team is on it's heels we control the tempo and our offense can really open up and take over a game.

Sent from my XT907 using proboards I think that's the first time I've ever seen the words "Raymond Felton" and "good shape" in the same sentence.

Similarly, I'm interested to see how he plays on the other side of the ball in terms of keeping his man in front of him.

I don't remember there being a problem at UNC.

He took a beating in NY with comments about his weight. It was a cheap shot but I couldn't help myself.

Yeah the Freshmen apparently had something for a class that prohibited them from participating.

This happens every summer/year although I see on twitter Copeland had a fine showing today. Could his prep school year exempted him in some way?

What I remember is that out of town students couldn't play whenever school wasn't in session. Maybe it's between summer sessions? Copeland is from NC though, so I don't know.

Trey Mourning suited up too. But Tre, Paul and LJ were elsewhere I guess.

Jabril had a monster dunk in the third game. Definitely the highlight of the day. And it helped ease the pain of watching Mikael play like Mikael.

Disclaimer: This is not intended as a real recap and I've got no stats. But... It was the LJ Peak show at Kenner today (Sunday 7/20). It was my first time seeing him and he was impressive. Yes, there was essentially no defense being played but he had four or five highlight reel dunks, drove the lane, made impressive steals and hit a bunch of threes. If nothing else his sheer athleticism and versatility will bring a new dimension to the Hoyas this season. Very good looking freshman. Oh yeah, there was some guy named Copeland too. Threw down some dunks and hit some threes and looked smooth and athletic as well. Didn't do nearly as much as Peak but has "future NBA player" written all over him. Tre Campbell was good as well in the game before and looks like a serviceable point once he gets some experience. Shot the three pretty well and has a good handle. Paul White wasn't making highlights but seems like a solid player that come Junior year will be someone we'll be depending on every time he takes the floor. I really like the way this class looks and I didn't even see Mourning. Looking forward to November!
