This may be too optimistic, but if MSU and Gtown are his two leaders, and he is already visiting MSU, could there be a chance he commits on his visit to Georgetown if he has a great experience?

Of all the bigs we're recruiting, including top '15 guys such as Rabb, Comanche, Labisierre and Govan, this is the guy I want. I think it would be incredibly valuable, given the complexity of what JT III runs, to have a year in the system practicing before needing to play in games. All of the '15 guys would need to be productive right away as freshmen, which we've seen is difficult for even the highest rated big man recruits of JT III's tenure. This guy's what we need to have a big-time big man ready to play in 2015-2016. You are forgetting the era we live in. I can guarantee that neither Rabb or Comanche, or Labiesierre, or Govan would commit to Georgetown thinking "well, let me go in and learn the system and practice for a year and then play in the games my sophomore season" Doesn't work like that. All four of those guys are five star recruits. Five star recruits don't go to college to sit. Simple as that. First off, those four guys all have more natural talent than Egbunu - who I love for his length and athleticism. Secondly, Greg Monroe came in and was fine right away, didn't break stride from high school. I agree with recruiting Egbunu, but the freshmen this staff is recruiting go to school to play right away. If either of those bigs commit here, I can guarantee they won't be riding the pine Skal & Chance have more basketball skills than Egbunu but they're not more naturally gifted than he is and it's not that close imo.. Govan's skill level is a little higher but they're not even close in natural abilities.. Rabb is a stud.. If Egbunu had gone the post grad route instead of signing with USF, where do you think he'd be ranked in the 2014 class for centers? Even take it a step further and project him against the 2015 class of centers and its even more glaring how big a get this could be..

I think, because he was never a recruit for us when he was originally being recruited (at least he wasn't on fan radars), that we're all underrating Egbunu here. He was a Top 50-60 recruit last year, performed well so far in college, is 7', athletic, etc.
He would be a great get as a junior-aged sophomore with a year in the system in 2015.

Does it really matter? If he can grab a coin off the top of a backboard then his athletic abilities allow him to play defense and block pretty much anyone's shot....

Don't tease b&g. What happened ?? Evidently, there was a 7' banner that was hung featuring an action shot of John that read "WELCOME TO THE HILLTOP JOHN EGBUNU". It looked like a full on billboard ....students really went the extra yard on this one.

It's great to hear that the students are working almost as hard as the coaches in a last ditch effort to sway the big 'feller'.

At the end of the day, the staff has really taken recruiting to the next level. Gone are the days where we'd have to beg the staff to pursue a certain kid. The staff has done a great job targeting their top recruits, pursuing back up options in case we don't land the big guns, and targeting transfers in a timely manner. I don't ever recall hearing about so many in-home visits, official and unofficial visits. Love everything about our 2014 class and have a feeling we are all going to be very happy with 2015.
