Got to play better than the last 2 games if we want this one.

Providence is wearing down with their short bench. Gotta take advantage of their short bench and quick turnaround on Monday.

They kicked our behinds last game. Must really step it up to have hope for this one but, with Markel leading the way, we have a chance.

I kind of think Providence's season is over and they don't know it yet. They're just dying out there in the second half. Cooley's done a great job but they're just out of players. The Hoyas need to come out quick and grind them down at home.

Like Ed said, they beat us down last time. I don't think we ever led in that game. We owe them. They lost again today, two in a row and three out of four. Desperate. We've got to keep it going against them.

Providence has dropped their last 2, most recently a close one @ Xavier. Even though both teams have short benches, I think the quick turnaround works in our favor when you add in that they're on the road.

Cue the "we don't play enough guys" discussion. TJI should have been on this already. Strangely silent with the mini win streak. So strange. I still don't buy the short rotation thing in early February but I also haven't watched much of Providence outside of our games with them. I've only watched one other and it was probably 3 weeks ago now. How short is their rotation at this point?

No one else gets more than 5 mins if they play at all.

They have two lineups that play almost 70% of the time. The list goes on. They don't have a short bench, they have an extra player.

Again, I don't know much about them other than the few games I've watched. Cotton has/had seemed unaffected by playing the entire game to me. Is that not the case with the rest of the squad?

Cotton is the key. Xavier limited him to 9 shots last night. He gave up a key turnover with 48 seconds to go down 55-53 that probably cost PC the game. Must stay on him.

Really important game. Two teams on the bubble that really need this win - Providence to stop their slide, us to even our Big East record and get (or get closer to) the right side of the bubble. Really need to bring it, team and fans - we need payback for what they did to us in Providence.
We know how to play without Josh Smith now, so I expect a close, hard fought game.

What killed us at Providence is what killed us against Seton Hall which also tends to hurt us in every game, even those we win: scoring droughts. It has nothing to do with the other team, just with the aggressive approach of the Hoyas. Avoid ridiculous scoring droughts.

This is a critical game and it will be won or lost on defense and rebounding. Our small lineup will need to find a way to rebound much better against a bigger Providence team. I think that Trawick and Bowen can help stop the Friars up-tempo offense with the "soft" press up top. Nate must be big on the boards and DSR has to find his outside shot. Markel needs to continue to play under control. Hopkins has to stay in the game--no more "dumb" fouls. Sounds like a lot but nothing that these kids cannot do. Finally, JT III must make good use of substitutions and timeouts to help prevent any Friars' runs. Last game made it look like the Friars were far superior to the Hoyas. I do not see that, but a bad start could snowball.

This is a very winnable game, and a huge litmus test for where we stand, and where we can take this season. We know we should be solid on defense; we need to limit turnovers and forced shots, because every possession should be critical. A good time for DSR to find his shot, and for Reggie to knock down a couple.

Providence is a tourney team. We need this win to have a shot I disagree. Providence is sinking. They only have 1 "good" win (vs Creighton). Granted they dont have any "bad" losses (except maybe for Seton Hall) but I can see them on the bubble soon, and possibly ending up in the NIT Regardless we need this game, and 5 more.
