PS cant wait for the NEW reggie cameron to face that big east tourney MVP josh hart this year NEW YEAR NEW RESULTS COMING ill take reggie YUP He is so much better in every aspect of his game that it is like getting a new recruit for this season and next. His defense is really the area I see the most improvement and he plays like a leader out there, rather than a role player.

I agree. It's like a new player showed up this year. The confidence, the court savvy with drawing the charges ... he even looks quicker on the court. You have to give both Reggie and the staff a lot of credit for this level of improvement. If it weren't for the other incredible transformation -- Bradley Hayes -- Reggie would be the story of the season. Throw in some clear improvement with Mourning and we might have the best off season transformation of the bench in recent years. Henry Sims and Don Reid would be proud.

This year is an example of why our string of upperclassmen transfers a few years back was so devastating. Reggie and Bradley didn't get much run early on, but both have developed into important contributors. We haven't often had the opportunity for guys to make this kind of leap in their Junior and Senior years. Glad to see Reggie's stroke finally coming around.

Happy to admit I was wrong about Reggie. I was optimistic about him finding his stroke, but really doubted he could ever improve his defense, rebounding, and handle enough to really contribute in other ways. He'll never be a high level athlete or a lockdown defender, but it's extremely impressive how much he's improved his agility and mobility in the past couple years. That doesn't come from just regular practice time, but it tells me Reggie has also been working extremely hard on his own time, on breaks, and in the summer. He really looks like a completely different person from an athletic standpoint. I find it incredibly impressive when someone who wasn't born with the athletic gifts of many other high-major players can transform himself to the point where he can break the ankles of an annoying Duke defender!

From watching a replay of the Wisco game, I was impressed by Reggie, not only in the first half, where he scored all his points, but also in the 2nd half, where he was active, made good passes, and contributed greatly to the team.

Agreed that it is so great to see Reggie get some success. Its been said by others but the difference in him this season seems to be confidence and in my mind, a personally positive attitude. He's always been a great teammate, first off the bench to cheer others, always seemingly giving positive feedback when teammates do well. As a contrast, I always noticed how hard he seemed on himself. Last season in particular he'd come in, make a three then miss one, get subbed for and then you could just see him beat himself up on the bench: head down, no eye contact, frustrated gestures, hands over his face. It seemed he was on a tight leash mentally and had a really hard time dealing with simple things like missed shots. This year he seems to be more able to get over minor mistakes and missed shots and it is obvious what the results are. Is his success due to more confidence or is he more confident because he's had more success? In the end, who cares? I'm just happy for him and for the team.

I know it's a short sample, but Reggie went from 78% FT as a frosh to 86% as a soph in limited minutes. Kudos to him for focusing even though he was going through a rough season. Reggie is currently 8 for 8.

Yeah, he is money at the stripe. Feel good about having Reggie, DSR, and perhaps Jessie shooting FTs at the end of games.

Don't forget Marcus Derrickson from the stripe late in a game. The two he hit against Maryland were as tough as it gets.

Good point. So, we can field a lineup that has at least four plus to very good foul shooters. Paul White may give us five. What a luxury.

Not sure Copeland's missed many either, although I haven't checked stats. The only people that have really made me cringe at the foul line are Peak and Hayes. DSR has had a few uncharacteristic misses, too.

Ike has missed one for an overall 89%.
DSR has missed four for an uncharacteristic 67%.

How much fun is it watching Reggie this year?! Not only shooting, but rebounding, playing D (helped shut down Lydon for much of his time) - even blocked a shot! Good things truly come to those who keep working hard

True FF. The shot mechanics were always there but he needed confidence. I think Italy provided the confidence and Reggie put in the work on D. Defense is mostly effort and want to. It's nice to know that 10 players can give you double figures on any given night....

The great thing is we don't even know where Reggie is on his improvement trajectory. I think given the work he's obvoiusly putting in we can expect to see even better play as the season goes on, and a terrific senior season.
