Which is more Georgetown:
The 16 requests thus far in this thread for a PM with inside info on Greg's dismissal...
Or
The "-123- fireballs" in the official press release.

Haha. The need for a PM to further elaborate on his dismissal... Who are people asking? One individual? Multiple sources? Personally I don't care, he gone.

This should cover it: Can someone PM me ANY inside information of the phrase -123- fireballs written at the bottom of the GU press release? Much appreciated.

Add me to this very "Georgetown" PM list please! I'm just curious.

IMHO AB is skilled; a great defender and can do better than he's displayed. Much better. He's a late bloomer type. If we're using that theory, then Nate shouldn't be on the team - and he's STARTING. On another note, aren't you being a little tough, rockhoya? Nope. Can't shoot. Can't dribble. Can fly around and be a garbage man. But at the Big East level, he has no business playing more than 10 minutes a game. Definitely can't play in our offense. When he's on the floor, teams don't even bother guarding him. Unfortunately, I agree.

You guys keep sayin all he showed was potential.... 12 and 7 while sharing the court with Otto as a soph is quite a lot of production. If all he showed is potential then his ceiling is Lebron.

Always sad to lose a player but the academic rigors at Georgetown are much more difficult then many other basketball programs and multiple transgresses are less forgivable. Good luck to GW in his future.
Add me to the PM list (although I'm not sure where everyone thinks this info is coming from)...might as well send a PM to every member!

On another note, aren't you being a little tough, rockhoya? No cause you can just post opinionated based off nothing but your guy feeling. Especially considering there are several posters on this board "in the know" that maintain relationships with players and coaches within the program.

I agree with you for the most part but we all know JT3 is probably going to ask him back... After looking at the scholarship table a few minutes ago, I'd bet Moses will be back also.

After looking at the scholarship table a few minutes ago, I'd bet Moses will be back also. I always thought there was a better shot Moses would be back than Bowen just purely based on positional needs. But now, barring a late signing, it looks like both have a good shot to be back.

Hypothetical question: if player X fails to maintain good academic standing at school Y, can he or she "transfer" to school Z? Maybe it's a technicality because one can apply for admission to Z with whatever credits are earned, and Z can decide whether it cares what the student's previous academic performance was. But I wish academics meant more.

I think we were all banking on Greg playing with a hunger that accompanies getting a THIRD shot next year (following the suspension and an injury). That, combined with his potential on the defensive and offensive ends, was tantalizing and would have been a nice complement to the pieces we have returning and coming back next year. Here's hoping our incoming wings and a sophomore Cameron can fill the void. If he's not coming back, I think we go all in on recruiting another PG (not convinced Campbell is our future) or C. ADD ME TO THE PM LIST AS WELL PLEASE. Would like to know the circumstances that unfolded generally these last few months and /or what was the final straw in Puerto Rico. I imagine that it would take a lot for JT3 to "dismiss" a player from the team. It's not like he's transferring or something... he was dismissed. For a guy that was working on his 3rd chance with this team, thats a bad sign.

I, like FLHoya, am far more amused by 123 Fireballs. Would love a PM with insight on that and/or GW's dismissal.

You know better rich fame. There will never be any specifics from GU, as should be the case, student privacy issues etc. And therefore there can never be any way to verify or confirm any specifics. We were playing without him all year anyway, time to move on.

What makes you think any of us moderators has an inside line on what was behind this decision by the Coach? We don't. We also have no statement on his status as a student at Georgetown. One might assume he'll leave school but that is simply an assumption at this point. Whenever there's an independently verifiable, credible explanation from the school, the athlete, or a reporter atrributing the information to one of those sources, feel free to post it here.
