If he is a one and done. Kentucky is the place for him. If he wants to stay at home..its Cal. Not feeling like I will bet my house on Rabb in a Hoya uniform.

Do the gurus read this as UNC has been eliminated?. If so, we have a good shot of making the final 5 it would appear. That's all we can ask for at this point.

I'm reading that Rabb's UNC in-home will likely be rescheduled.

While Rabb has been straightforward with everyone recruiting him and he and his family have handled the process fairly and professionally, they aren't saying much or leaning one way or another. As a result, no one really knows where they stand with him.
Arizona for one believed that they were on the outside looking in....so they went for other '15 bigs.

Wow...very mysterious. I cannot blame the Rabb family for handling things that way; in fact, they seem to be taking a page from the John Thompson, Jr. Guide to Communications. At least they seem to take the process very seriously, which (I believe) bodes well for the Hoyas. Also, if he takes his time and schools like Arizona (and perhaps others, in time) pursue other competing players, that only will help the chances for the Hoyas.

Hoyalove isn't Gtown doing the same? Pursuing Skal and Tacko. I hope that a school pursuing other options doesn't affect a top recruit like Rabb. Both parties are doing the same thing with Rabb having a final 5 and the schools reaching out to other bigs.

My guess is Hoyas and Heels, but we shall see.

My guess is Hoyas and Heels, but we shall see. I agree with you, his recruitment has been very predictable though.. www.insidebayarea.com/sports/ci_26727293/odowds-ivan-rabb-will-narrow-college-list-fiveCurrently, Rabb has seven schools on his list, including Cal.
The others are Arizona, Georgetown, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina and UCLA.
Richie said Rabb will call the two schools he is eliminating, then talk with the remaining five to schedule his visits.

However this goes, I really respect the way Ivan has handled the whole process.

True. No news is good news given he is going to call the schools he plans to eliminate. No news yet.

Still no news... should we be feeling hopeful about things now?

I think most of us ( none with inside knowledge, of course) consider Rabb actually coming to Gtown a real long shot. Especially considering the competition and where he lives. IF we were somehow to land him, what player commit in the past would compare, in terms of impact and shock at landing him? I can't really think of one.

Exactly right. According to all reports, his Mom was being lined up for a Mrs. Duhon no show job relocation package to Durham when he popped for the Hoyas.

In terms of the level of player, I also thought of Monroe. But, for some reason, I remember feeling that we were going to get him, not Duke. I think JT3 was a hot coach, coming off Final Four, and their was buzz around the program. On the other hand..my memory ain't what it used to be.
