Five-star power forward Ivan Rabb told the Herald-Leader on Friday that he will “most likely” be in Lexington for Big Blue Madness in October. He said that Soldiers teammate Stephen Zimmerman and UK commitment Charles Matthews are both trying to get him to visit Lexington for Madness on Oct. 17. Matthews and Zimmerman will both be there, and it will be the latter’s first trip to Lexington. ukrecruiting.bloginky.com/author/benroberts/page/2/

Midnight Madness in Lexington = Bye-Bye Ivan. I disagree with that sentiment.. Really no basis to think UK is one of his top schools. Kids are still kids and who wouldn’t want to experience that. Doesn’t mean he wants to as a player or even see’s himself in a UK uni... On a side note he’s talked about visiting BBM which is on the 17th Arizona’s Red and Blue Game on the 18th.. IF he makes both he’s going to be racking up the Frequent flier miles. IMO going to be hard to go to both though...

Doesn’t mean he wants to as a player or even see’s himself in a UK uni... That's how I see it too. It doesn't seem as if UK and Rabb see the other as a priority but more like a routine obligation that must be fulfilled based upon their respective statuses. It comes across as each party going through the motions. Oh, you're the top recruit or at worst a top five recruit in the country? Then you have to give Calipari his time just for street cred and ESPN's blessing alone. Oh, you are the Big Blue who feel it is your right to pick and choose amongst the top 20 recruits each year? Well, you gotta have the top guy like Rabb show up even though you have spent far more effort on other bigs in the same class. Plus ESPN wants you to be in his final five leading up to the day Rabb makes his choice. Seriously Rabb is thinking about going to UK's midnight madness on the account of "his boys" asking him too? Doesn't sound like the typical UK recruit who leave no doubt that Midnight Madness at UK is where they want to be. Of course I could be totally wrong about all of this. However I'm still of the opinion that a school like Zona and UNC are moreof a threat than UK.

That said, with regard to the pursuit of Rabb....any of those schools would trade places with G'town in a heartbeat with regard to where they stand.

I stick by my statement. UK in the mix, along with UNC, and Bye-Bye Ivan. We can never win these battles with someone who's main goal is the NBA.
