This is Georgetown--put him in #33 and Govan in #55. I believe 33 is still retired. Wasn't it only worn by PE Jr. upon approval by Big Pat? As Elvado said, its not retired. JT3 had PE2 ask Alonzo's permission to wear it though. Presumably Ivan would need to ask PE2/Alonzo/PE. Of course, Trey might want to wear #33, so Ivan might have to establish his own number / pick a different line to follow. He could always go with #32 for Jeff Green, or #10 for Greg Monroe. blog.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/2006/10/jtiii_talks_to_us.html

Now we are talking about asking if a recruit can wear a number. Please, a little horse before the cart here.
I don't think there's enough wood to knock on. I thought Dan had a rule to cover that.

Ewing wore #32 at Rindge & Latin, but Eric Smith already had that number at Georgetown. Obscure Uniform Trivia: There is a photo out there of Ewing wearing #55 in a team photo in the fall of 1981. In those days, numbers were assigned to jerseys by size, so the smaller players wore the #10, #12, etc. and the tallest players ended up in the 50's (Hopkins, Scates, Spriggs, Frazier). It's possible that the #33 (last worn by Craig Shelton) didn't fit Ewing, and a replacement jersey had not arrived by then.

insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncbrecruitingon-the-trail/post/_/id/11006/lebron-james-skills-academy-wrap-upIvan Rabb 2015, PF, 6-foot-9, 209 pounds Rabb, the No. 1 player in the ESPN 100, was steady throughout the camp. He finished with either hand in the paint and showed excellent hands as he caught passes in transition for some spectacular conversions. He can step out and nail elbow jump shots as well, and he's explosive at both ends. However, he still plays too straight up while posting up, and he showed stiff hips as a number of bigs (Moustapha Diagne being one) either took Rabb off the dribble or punished him inside using their strength advantage.

Diallo is all motor and atheltic ability. He has nice form shooting but I'm really hoping that St. John's lands him.

10. Ivan Rabb vs. Henry Ellenson: The best individual battle I watched was Rabb and Ellenson on the first night of the camp. This came after Rabb went against Georgetown-commit Jessie Govan, and simply went to work. He was blocking shots, rebounding at both ends, running the floor, scoring with his back to the basket. Simply put, Rabb dominated the future Hoya. The second half saw Rabb finally go against Ellenson, a fellow top-10 prospect. Both players are talented big men -- in different ways. Ellenson is capable of stretching the floor and knocking down shots to the perimeter, while Rabb uses his length and athleticism to make plays at both ends of the floor. The head-to-head matchup was basically even www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/eye-on-college-basketball/24622073/ten-thoughts-from-the-lebron-james-skills-academy

Andy Enfield here for Rex Pflueger I always wondered how the twitter reporters know who a coach is there to watch for a game. I mean technically the coaches aren't allowed to comment on recruits and I don't know if they'd tell a reporter who they were scouting. Are they just guessing based on who the teams have showed interest in in the past? Not saying they're wrong, but I assume they're mostly guessing who teams are tracking.

An educated guess based on association as you theorized above...
