I could be wrong of course...but we are the team to beat. Is he pretty committed to waiting until the ESPN special to announce?

Not sure. What I do know is that he loves the Hoyas and that we are very well positioned. UK, UNC, Duke, Cal and Zona will be on the kid. We will be in his final two at the end of the day and have a good a shot as anyone.

If it comes down to a signing special, that sounds like bad news though.

Unless I am mistaken, there haven't been any reports of any "handler," which is a good thing. Ivan's Mom seems to be very involved, which is a good thing. And as mentioned by B&G and on Casual a few seconds ago, the unofficial made a very good impression. Big Man U. rep serving us very well here. And hopefully Greg Monroe 1.0 gets paid soon, that will not go unnoticed by Greg Monroe 2.0.

Corey Evans @coreyevans_10 15h Ivan Rabb matchup with Skal Labissiere should bring the Gtown, Memphis, UNC, Arizona, Kentucky staffs out in full force at Lv Classic!

If we want to be in the hunt for the big time recruits, we cannot be afraid of going against UNC, Kentucky, or other similar programs. Are we going to win most of those battles? Probably not, but if we don't even bother, it certainly will never occur. And if we keep at it, eventually we are going to land somebody, even if it's only every few years. Let's hope one of them is Rabb.

It's seems that the longer the recruiting battle drags out for a top player, the worse our chances become. We have a specific offering, either you know you fit early on in the process or you go elsewhere. Kentucky, Kansas, Florida and Arizona are interchangeable. Lots of top players seem to free up each year due to transfers, it may be a good strategy to pursue aggressively on a go forward basis.

Lots of top players seem to free up each year due to transfers, it may be a good strategy to pursue aggressively on a go forward basis. We do pursue aggressively. Especially recently. And those schools aren't really interchangeable. A lot depends on the personnel already on board to many kids it seems. While we have the perception that we either fit or we don't, on the flip side of that coin is that kids often seem to have a dream school and, even when they get that offer, they rarely pull the trigger right away. We're not the only school that waits to find out if we're getting kids and we're not the only school that loses out on guys we hope to/think we might get. Your point is well taken though. Georgetown is less like the others and does seem to appeal to a smaller subset of guys. I feel that that's very true but I also think that some of that is just bitterness on my part personally for missing out on some guys that went elsewhere for whatever reasons.

What's Calhoun doing there? He's not allowed to recruit anymore.

What's Calhoun doing there? He's not allowed to recruit anymore. At his age he can't be expected to remember from one day to the next.
