White seems to use his left hand very adroitly on offense around the basket and when driving. I hope he develops the ability to block shots with his left hand also like Trey Mourning. He is a good athlete but not a super quick athlete, therefore will be prone to fouling a lot when guarding quicker big forwards man-to-man if he tries to block their shots with his right hand. Still love his all around game though.

I'm not concerned with his defense and his ability to adjust to the competition.

The "Showtime boys". Can we adopt this for our team this upcoming season? Does anyone know if they're doing a WAG shirt again this year? Maybe open up to non-student suggestions to get better and more ideas.

At 6-8, Paul White is a very versatile player as Copeland. White played in the basketball hot-spot that is Chicago. He has a very good mid-range game with a very smooth jump shot and is able to take defenders off of the dribble. White also has very underrated court vision. He reminds me a lot of Kyle Anderson. theleftbench.com/2014/05/02/recruiting-class-recap-2014-part-1/

Also, when Okafor was out of the game, White would take over, show-casing his ability to take over a game.

Ive seen comments from alot of high school followers in Chicago say of the Parker, Okafor, Alexander and White combo. They feel White is the best all around player of them all and will be the best pro. That is high praise.

I had this same thought watching White play with Okafor during the 5 or 6 games we were able to see on ESPN/on-line this year. White did a great job entering the ball to Okafor in the post, setting Okafor up to use his strong post up skills. And on multiple occasions, White led the team in the second half when Okafor had foul trouble (I guess Jahlil won't need to worry about that anymore once he puts on a Duke uniform!). White's defensive skill and versatility was particularly impressive - he did a good job on Mudiay (a top 10 PG) and Alexander (a top 10 post player) in two big games this year. He is not as overtly explosive as a guy like copeland. But he is smart, moves his feet, and has long arms - making him a really effective defender. And his offensive game is so smooth, skilled, and smart. Can't wait for Kenner games to start to get a first hand look at all our new players. But I would not be surprised if White has the most first year impact, because of his high skill level, high level of high school competition, and versatile game on both ends of the court.

I have a feeling this class will transform the program and White is a big part of that. Can't wait to see these guys in uniform.

A big Amen to everything that was said in these two posts. White is an Otto Porter like player, nothing overtly flashy, but at the end of the game he will be at or near the top in points assists and rebounds. I love his game.

White uses his length and brains on defense like Porter did. He's usually in the right position, shutting down passing lanes. He uses his length and ability to close out on shooters to play a step back, making it harder to go around him or pass by him. He's strong enough and crafty enough to hold his own inside.
It's like watching Otto 2.0 on defense. It's high school, so the competition level is going up, but it's worth noting, given that Otto was probably the most impactful player we've had since Hibbert.
