White plays defense like Otto -- uses his length, fantastic positioning. I hope the downgrade in the center watching his back doesn't hurt his D too much. We know that JT3 has his favorites that anchor his offense and defense....White is going to be that guy for the Hoyas. Ike and LJ may have something to say about that....but I see white getting lots of minutes.

If his defense is like Otto's, his presence will help which ever Center is behind. Many of our fouls for our front court came while fighting for position. Plus a player that helps and recovers well can help cover against drives without giving up many deep shots. As long as they give the effort, I'm excited for the impact of these incoming players.

I was at that game last night watching my alma mater play the savior of my other alma mater. The talent discrepency was so massive that WY needed only to play at about half speed to ensure a win. If they went hard, they could have won by 50. White didn't look all that impressive but he did play complete shut down defense on LA's best shooter. It just didn't seem like he had to try very hard to do it. My main take away is that he's a lot taller than I realized. It also looked like he hurt his leg very late in the game. I have no idea why WY played their starters as much as they did. There was no upside for them at all.

Paul and WY advanced over Jalen Brunson’s team to go to the State Championship Game Brunson went crazy and scored 56…Kid is a monster 16-30 from two 7-14 from three 17-23 from the ft line and he’s only a Junior www.csnchicago.com/preps/whitney-young-advances-despite-brunsons-historic-nightOkafor was a brutally efficient 13-for-15 from the field and 7-for-10 from the free-throw line and the McDonald's All-American's and-one dunk with under a minute left sealed Whitney Young's win and gave Okafor a signature moment in Peoria. Whitney Young senior forward Paul White also added 15 points, six rebounds and three assists while senior guards Erwin Henry (11 points) and Miles Reynolds (10 points) also finished in double-figures for the Dolphins. Whitney Young held a significant size advantage over Stevenson and outrebounded the Patriots, 32-24, on the evening while also outscoring them in the paint with a 48-22 advantage. The Dolphins (28-5) advances to their first Class 4A state championship game since 2010, when they fell to Simeon, 51-36, in the title game. The Dolphins last won a state title in 2009 with a 69-66 win over Waukegan for the Class 4A state title.

Hit clinching pair of free throws in tonight's state championship game. His style is so smooth, he's the type of guy fans may think isn't trying hard, just because he looks so effortless on the court. Brought the ball up at times against the press tonight. White is really going to be a great Hoya, I'll be surprised if he lasts 4 years on the Hilltop. Love his game.

I think he might have made more layups in that short video than our frontcourt made all year
