georgetown.247sports.com/Article/Top-Five-Incoming-Big-East-Basketball-Recruits-307521675) Paul White – Georgetown 247Sports Composite Ranking: 54
247Sports Ranking: 72 The Georgetown Hoyas freshman forward has an extremely smooth game. White is more than capable of shooting the basketball out to the perimeter while also being skilled enough to score with both hands around the rim. White should be a natural fit for the type of offense that John Thompson III employs with the Hoyas as he is capable of playing both forward positions to help create mismatches.

Hope he can put on some weight. I like this kid. He's unselfish and can take over a game.

By the time we play Syracuse, he'll be primed and ready to take on the middle of the zone a la Otto Porter.

Hopefully Cameron gets his 3-pt shot in elite form by then.

Hopefully Cameron gets his 3-pt shot in elite form by then. There is a tendency to forget about Reggie. I have a feeling that with a year under his belt, and an off-season to get stronger, he will be a definite contributor. His stroke never lost its form last year, so as the game slows down a little his perimeter game and his length can make him a weapon.

I'd feel better if we were hoping for Jabril's shot to round into consistent form at a 36-38% clip with volume. Would be a huge complement to DSR's hopeful 40+% clip from deep. Reggie is going to have a hard time finding the floor with any consistency.
Copeland/White in the middle of the zone, looking for open 12-15 footer, kicking to DSR or Jabril on the perimeter, hitting Peak on a baseline slash, or dumping down to Joshua/Mikael with position underneath is the ticket.

I expect Jabril to hit around 35% of his threes this year. He's improved every year under JT3 and hit 38% of his 3's after coming back from injury. 13/34 compared to 2/14 before his injury.

Very similar to Otto Porters game. Similar size and build with a strong handle. Moves with and without the ball well. Below the rim guy who uses his body well to create his shot and get to the hoop. He has a very smooth stroke and he plays defense! We have 3 freshmen that have the tools to play at the next level.

Glad to hear you say that comparison. I had thought so,as well, from the videos and snippets from those who have seen him. Yet, had heard that comparison used with Copeland. From what I can see, Copeland is much more of an above the rim guy than Otto, although maybe his skillset is similar. Never seen Copeland,,,but sounds a bit more like a Jeff Green. A new Jeff and Otto playing together sounds great to me.

A new Jeff and Otto playing together sounds great to me. I've never really gotten the Copeland - Porter comp at all. But White? - Unorthodox but effective mid-range jumper? Check.
- Always seems to find the rebound, mostly in unspectacular ways? Check.
- Not a lot of wasted movement so he's deceptively quick when he does? Check?
- Strong understanding of angles, passing lanes and a good, controlled close-out so he can control the floor on D without bodying up? Check.
That last one is amazingly similar. Watching him play that lanky, hovering zone-ish defender who sits back to play the angles but closes out well... it's what made Otto such a strong defender and an amazing team defender. I'm not quite sure he has the complete heights of Otto's athleticism and it feels like he's a bit more likely to disappear than Otto was (who was calm, measured but rarely uninvolved). But still, it's an easy comp.

Think Paul is more skilled than Otto was as a Freshman but Otto has that dog in him. His motor was on 110% all game. Paul has had many games where he looked like he could do more imo.
Also Otto has more of a scorers mentality…Paul more of a variety of guard skills and a way better left...
Glad to hear 3 plans on using Paul in the backcourt at both SG and PG spots.. Thoughts of a 6’8 PG makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside
