Wow. As if I wasn't already excited enough. Who has perspective on which rankings are generally the most well-respected? ESPN, Rivals, Scout, 24/7? This is with the obvious caveat that rankings are garbage

I think generally the way to look at rankings is to aggregate them (aka look at the RSCI rankings, which won't be updated for a month or so).

Big East with 14 top 100s spread over 7 teams - pretty good result for the league

If you aren't excited about the incoming frosh and the future of the program, I'm not sure what to tell you.

The fact that White, who I think will log more minutes on next years team, is ranked the lowest of the three should make us all smile. If Tre Campbell can learn the system as quick as Jon Wallace did his freshman year, then this team the next two years will be special. I say two years because if White, Copeland, or Peak perform as advertised, then look to see one or more going the Otto Porter route to the NBA. A Trey Mourning addition at this point for next year would be great, if he can hit the 3pt shot as advertised. This would let the Hoyas use him as Creighton used Graggy this year to spread the defense and open up the lane for the human highlight reel named LJ Peak. The team could help him out guarding a physical center by constantly double teaming him when he got the ball.

Man....even more credence that any/all of those should have been Mickey D's AA's (I know Copeland couldn't due to his 5th year). Excited for this class

Didn't think that comment warranted a response like that. Was only excited at the talent we have coming in. And they don't go by the top 24 many lower ranked players were in the AA game this year than our guys are now

Considering that the cutoff for 5 stars was 29 and Peak comes in at 31 and White at 34, that's pretty darn good.

These rankings don't give credence to the fact that they should've all been in the game.

Considering that the cutoff for 5 stars was 29 and Peak comes in at 31 and White at 34, that's pretty darn good. Good points Daymond and it might be even better. It looks to me that the GRADE assigned by ESPN's analysts was the deciding factor. Anyone who got a 90 or better was awarded 5 stars. Top ranking this year was 97. Copeland got a 94. LJ Peak AND Paul White were each awarded 89 points. You can't get any closer to being an ESPN, 90 pt 5 star. All that said, the rankings are fun and give an indication of future success, but when the kids show up on campus you find out who you really have. Maybe you have a lower ranked kid who is smart, hardworking and gives his all.. and, oh yeah, has ice water in his veins but you don't know that until Jon Wallace shows up. Or, you might have Josh Smith - though he still has one more year to redeem himself. I don't know any more than anyone else, but I have a really good feeling about all four kids coming in. And I think Zo's kid will be joining them too. Things are looking up for our Hoyas!

While Paul White will log plenty of minutes next season, he's not playing more minutes than Copeland. There's a reason he's a five star. He's 6-10 and an elite, ELITE athlete, capable of playing the three and the four. He can shoot it from three and he puts it on the floor and finishes superbly in transition. Put it this way: Copeland is as good a run and jump athlete as Bowen, just four inches taller, 20 pounds heavier and infinitely more skilled. If he keeps developing, he's for sure a lotto pick in two years. And that takes nothing at all from White, who will play a ton next season and is very cerebral. I think we get three guys to the NBA from this class

I've seen Biancardi reply to folks questioning a rankings drop for a player by saying they should pay more attention to the grade # not the spot in the rankings.. 90-100: High-major plus prospect (5 stars)Player demonstrates rare abilities. But given it's from you? Well, let me just quote board legend LicHoya - "Is it February yet?!" Can't wait!!

Have seen Isaac for three years. Has always been a great athlete. His rankings have suffered through the years because his skill level hasn't always been there and he hasn't always been aggressive enough. That changed this season.

If we would have picked up a good center do you'll think we would've been mentioned in the same conversations as the blue bloods?

If we would have picked up a good center do you'll think we would've been mentioned in the same conversations as the blue bloods? No. That involves winning championships or at the very least not losing in the first weekend of the NCAA tournaments.

If we had signed say Elbert Robinson, we'd have a top 3 or 4 class.
