Best out OK State, Uconn & Wisconsin. Not exactly murderers' row & would give me pause if I were a MD fan. Exactly. Given how talented he is, and the rumors of having quite a bit of trouble trying to qualify.

Is there still an issue with Stone having a good enough score to get into a school? Into a school yes, into Maryland no.

You may not see Kentucky and Duke on that list, but Wisconsin has just made its second consecutive final four, and UConn has won its share of national championships, including one as recently as last year. So I wouldn't sneer at that list.

Wisconsin is the hometown team so they were going to be on there regardless. UConn has been a recruiting lightweight relatively recently. Regardless, It is not a list befitting a big that is allegedly the number 1 or 2 big in his class unless he isn't as good as advertised or there are issues.

I hope you are right, because I do not like UMD being highly ranked and being considered the place to go, for top area recruits.

Good chance he doesn't qualify. Reputable source for this besides message board chatter of teams that didn't land the kid? I'm as amazed as anyone that he would choose UMCP, but I bet they figure out a way to make him eligible. He's a one year Under Armour rental anyway.

I smell fish - this under armour connection goes to show how powerful shoe companies are. hm..

Stone is going to MD to play with the top PG in the country next year, Melo Trimble.

Who is to say Trimble doesn't jump to the NBA? Has he said as much?

Who is to say Trimble doesn't jump to the NBA? Has he said as much? Trimble has said he's not leaving unless he's a guaranteed lottery pick. Right now he's gathering info.

I was expecting that the Diamond Stone to Umd was going to be my least favorite thread on this board. Turns out, its the DSR to Europe thread I hate even more!

I think the sources out here are better than message boards (whether it's UW's feeling bad about it or Marquette gloating). However, I don't think there's much doubt that UA will make sure he's on the court next year.

Maryland can have Dion Wiley and if you mean Phil Booth, he's at Villanova. Other than that, who are these "best local recruits" that have gone to Maryland?

Maybe Stone wants to major in couch burning. If that's the case, he's a great fit for the Terps and there's nothing the Georgetown staff could have done.
