I think we should withhold defining his place in our history until after we see what his teams accomplish before he leaves. By the way, one more year! I hope we hear it all game long on Saturday. I hope we don't. I'm actually getting to the point where I'll be upset if he comes back next season. He'll be a Top-5 pick in the draft, and like Jeff, he can always come back to get his degree. There is more to life than making money. That money will be there. He could want to enjoy another year of college life.

No one wants to go to class for another year. No one. Especially not someone who will make multiple millions next year if he decides to forgo a semester of Managerial Accounting.

It would make absolutely no sense whatsoever for him to come back next season. None. Zero.

They could have easily avoided going to class for one more year if they chose to do so.

Money, while an important parameter, is not the only parameter in such decisions.

Ok. So no Hoya has won the Wooden Award, but Ewing won the Naismith award. Anyone know what the diffference is?

There are six organizations that hand out a POY award and there's seldom a consensus. I assume ESPN has some kind of affiliation with the Wooden Award because that's the one that gets the most hype.

I will add there may even be shouts of "one more year" by some students who didn't even bother to attend one more game. Loyalty goes both ways.

How anyone can have the nerve to be mad a player for leaving or not leaving early for the NBA is beyond me. If someone wants to play in the NBA and strike while the iron is hot so to speak, then let them. If they don't think they are physically or emotionally ready to leave the confines of college then why should they? It's really up to the individual player and what they think is important and what is right for them. Not what a bunch of fans think should be important to him.

As the ads keep telling us, Georgetown will be here for generations to come. No one in their right minds can possibly fault Otto (or Jeff or Greg) for getting a start on their careers early, especially if they know the door is always open for their return.

I was mostly addressing those that said they would be mad if he left not those wishing he would stay(clearly I am amoung them) I've just seen it go the opposite way with other players so decided to make it general.

Oladipo had a very mediocre game tonight -- 7 points, 6 boards, 4 turnovers, and 5 fouls (at least according to ESPN stats).
It's been a while since Otto had such a quiet night, especially in a big game.

Zeller pretty much a non-factor, as well.

Who said they would be mad? I don't think anyone was mad at Hollis either. I saw many that disagreed with Hollis' decision but I don't recall anyone being mad at him either. Otto has turned into a player that has a bigger future ahead of him that is glaringly obvious to everyone that watches our games. If you're a Hoya fan and anything but happy for the kid, you're not actually hoping the best for Otto and his hopes for his own future. Of course I would want him back as an alum and as a fan of our school and program but, if I'm honest, I think it'd be a bad decision for him to come back. The guy will be a Hoya legend already. Run the table this year and don't look back Mr. Porter! Even if we flame out, what he's done will be talked about and a point of reference for years and years to come. He's been stellar. We're lucky he's a Hoya and, by all accounts, another great rep for the rest of us and the University. As for now, keep it up Otto!

I did want to go to class for multiple more years. But, like you said, I didn't have millions waiting for me as an option.

Although he wasn't here very long -- just two seasons -- I am extremely appreciative of former assistant coach Robert Kirby and the key role he played in our recruitment of Otto. I guess it goes without saying that were it not for Kirby and his connection to Otto's family -- Otto never played AAU ball norattend any of the shoe company camps -- we likely wouldn't have had a shot at getting Otto to come to Georgetown. Off that alone, Kirby was a great hire by JT III!
