Just Google it. That's what I did. Those were virtual quotes I used earlier. Don't get me wrong, I do believe there are exceptions and ways to circumvent the rules. There usually are, anyway. I'm surprised by the initiated phone call stuff then. I'm sure, at least in football, there are recruits who have been recruited without official visits and then convinced to come in as walk ons or greyshirts. This is one of those areas where the rules seem pretty clear that it'd be very hard for a player like Mourning to not be a counter even if Zo paid. That said, in real life, teams constantly take advantage of this. How can a scholarship player give up his scholarship for another player? We've had really good, Top 100 players do this -- they were obviously recruited -- how are they not counters? But everyone seems okay with it.

A lot of schools that are on probation (see USC football) recruit kids with money and get them to pay their own way to help bridge the gap during times of scholarships restrictions. Tommy Tuberville did it at Ole Miss as well.

We need to stop assuming that just because the kid is a son of a former Georgetown player that he should just come here and have his father pay his way. That's an insult to the kid. If he's good enough to play here, then we should offer him a scholarship. No one would make the argument that Tim Hardaway should pay for his son or Glenn Robinson should pay for his. The fact is that if Trey really is a good enough player to be on our team, then he deserves a scholarship.

If he is even 75% as good as his dad at blocking shots, then he's good enough to come to Georgetown. I think it's safe to say he's just as worth the gamble as Bolden or Hayes. Plus, we know he has good character and a great family.
If we get Trey and Copeland for 2014, I'd be ecstatic.

That is not the benchmark for who should be getting offers.

I heard that Zo would make him play at Georgetown and he would not use a scholarship. But if he isn't even D1 material... Take RDF's word

Of course we heard about Noah not being D1 material from lots of people, too, so... 99.9% of the kids that people say aren't high D1 material...aren't high D1 material. "The kid who starts for the 1A public school down the street at point guard isn't D1 material...but then again, they said that about [fill in exception from 10 years ago here] so maybe he is!"
