I hope the mean is high enough that we have to advance to it, though I understand what you are saying. And man, I hope you are right!

Let's just keep shooting really bad until the BE conference season starts so that when we start regressing to the mean we do it in a big way! If we keep shooting like this, we'll have to shoot 60 percent from three in the BE to get back to a respectable percentage. And statistically, we are guaranteed to do it!
Seriously though, we are a better shooting team than this. I would like to see us run some dribble hand off plays. That's fallen out of the tool kit this year IMO. Either Markel or DSR or even Domingo should get a couple of those a game. It generates a decent look most of the time.

It's the time of year to wish for gifts so I'll wish for something right now. The Hoyas need to run, run, run. Think about it, they can't shoot that well from deep. They also don't have a great passing big for the halfcourt game. This team needs to get up and down as many times as possible. Two leading rebounders are both capable of bringing the ball up the floor and we really don't have anyone who can reliably create for themselves, create for others, or shoot consistently. Not a coincidence that we've had two games recently end with unwatchable four minute offensive stretches when we're content to slow it down and just get into halfcourt sets.

The reason why everyone thinks our zone offense looks so bleak is because we pass it around till we think we have the best shot. We don't pass it around because we are unable to penetrate. Most teams attack a weakness in the zone at the first chance they get, meanwhile we try to set up the zone with our passing for a quick ball reversal and wait for the optimal opening. um, ok...how is that working out for us?

Wow, longwood is 3-116 on the road since they joined Div 1 in 03-04.
Agree with some that say the bench should get run early and often. In fact I wouldn't mind not starting our "stars". It would give the subs valuable, important minutes and if they get behind, our starters will get work at coming from behind and valuing their possessions.
While I agree with everyone that the top 7/8 need more time to mesh and run the offense, that is something that will happen in games. Also, since I believe our offensive woes are due to bad shooting, that is something that is fixed in practice through repetition.
If our shots continue not to fall, I would like to see JT3 emphasis crashing the O boards. We've been week at it in the past because our priority is defending the break and our offense gets high % shots that shouldn't be missing, so rebounders aren't expecting the miss. Since our shooting has been so bad and we have been missing high % shots, I'd like to see coach keep 2/3 guys focused on getting the rebound before getting back. We have the length and speed to recover quickly on the break.
Go Hoyas. Get some xp for the subs and win the game!!

It hasn't for the past few years. A major reason why I've been high on DSR and Jabril's driving ability, Whit and Markel's versatility, and Otto's midrange game is that this team has the tools to break apart the spacing of a zone.

Just got an email from Georgetown...call 202-687-4692 to purchase.
I like the move to get more people to go to games on the one hand; on the other, sounds like it's likely to be another lousy crowd tonight.

C2C, I would be pleased with a final score of more than two digits. Duh, of course. Thanks Nevada Moments like that always make me think of DanMcQ's tag line.

I agree with others who say they need to attack the zone better. The guards look tentative. When Markel is driving, the offense opens up. We don't have the big passing center in the high post this year. This group also seems to play tight at times on offense. That is not how they look in Brooklyn. I am not sure what they are doing in practice that is making them less aggressive and free-wheeling but somebody needs to get them to loosen up. The defense looks great with active hands, Hoyas jumping in the passing lanes and diving for balls. The other missing piece is a consistent spot up jump shooter. DSR and/or Domingo is supposed to be that guy but neither seems confident enough right now to hit that three from the corner or from the hand off behind the screen.

If a saturday game against Towson had 8k at it, my guess is a Monday nighter against Longwood will produce considerably less. My guess is 5500.

Is there any doubt who our starters are or are going to be for the remainder of the year? The Starks, Whittington, Porter, Hopkins, Lubick rotation seems pretty well locked in. The problem is they don't look entirely comfortable with each other and they struggle sometimes to figure out where the offense is coming from. To me the most important thing that can happen is to get those five guys playing well together consistently and you don't do that by quick substitutions of role players. Until the starters produce consistently good basketball the priority should be to give them time together to figure it out.

I would just like to see some cohesive offense tonight. Everyone is talking about playing time for back-ups, this team does not look good enough to worry about back-ups right now. They need the starting 5 to play like a team on offense. At least in the first half against Tennessee, you could say the offense was producing good looks, that was not the case against Towson. They regressed in that game and I am hoping that was just a finals week flop that will be corrected tonight. I do not mind if Domingo or DSR get heavy minutes, since I think they are part of the solution on offense, but I have no desire to see Hayes, Moses, Bolden, etc. Those guys are such distant role players, 10 minutes against Longwood is not going to help them .

They give away lots of tickets. Doesn't mean they get used though.
