I'll be there. Hoping the final aggregate score is more than three digits this time.
Or, a new low halftime score? I thought 16-18 couldn't get any lower, but then we hit the 17-15 mark. For tomorrow: 13-11?

C2C, I would be pleased with a final score of more than two digits.

I didn't realize we had such a quick turn around until earlier this evening. Well good let's wash the taste of the Towson game out of our mouths and kick some butt.

It's the time of year to wish for gifts so I'll wish for something right now. The Hoyas need to run, run, run.
Think about it, they can't shoot that well from deep. They also don't have a great passing big for the halfcourt game. This team needs to get up and down as many times as possible.

In theory, it sounds nice to get Hayes and Moses some run, but they will probably get better in practice than playing against whoever is on Longwood.
Run, run, run with the first team!

unfortunately, it looks like scoring is going to be an issue all year. the biggest issue continues to be this teams inability to do anything against a zone defense. not sure where the blame should go as this has been an issue (though not as bad) for years. it's infuriating to see them pass the ball around the perimeter for 30 seconds and then just chuck up a 3.
one issue, IMO, is that this team does not have a player willing to attack the defense off the dribble. last year, we had clark able to make a play attacking the basket or we could dump it down to henry and he would make a good decision more times than not. our most aggressive player off the dribble is hopkins, our center!

The reason why everyone thinks our zone offense looks so bleak is because we pass it around till we think we have the best shot. We don't pass it around because we are unable to penetrate. Most teams attack a weakness in the zone at the first chance they get, meanwhile we try to set up the zone with our passing for a quick ball reversal and wait for the optimal opening.

Other coaches are aware of our lack of 3 point shooting (2-16 against Towson). The once we start hitting those shots (which have been wide open), we will be fine. Hitting 35% would be fine.

Let's start hitting 35% of our 2-point FGs first.

...talk amongst yourselves... should we start an attendance roll-call? My favorite Phone Booth usher told me they are not expecting anyone to show up and only scheduled the bare minimum of staff tonight.

Most teams attack a weakness in the zone at the first chance they get, meanwhile we try to set up the zone with our passing for a quick ball reversal and wait for the optimal opening. The "best shot" usually turns out to be "the one we have to take before the shot clock expires." I don't see how whipping the ball around the perimeter for 25 seconds opens up anything for anyone or in any way improves the quality of shot we ultimately take. Every time, I think of: "Halfback passes to the center. Back to the wing. Back to the center. Center holds it. Holds it...holds it."

Its not a good sign if even you didnt know we played tonight. I am expecting about 50 people at the game. Maybe they will give out free stuff ;D Speaking of which, I am still perturbed that the free give away went from 50 Chipotle burritos to 1 small Dominoes pizza. Stupid fiscal cliff...

Let's start hitting 35% of our 2-point FGs first. As bad as we've been hitting shots in 2 of the last 3 games we actually rank quite high nationally at converting 2pt attempts into baskets. We're shooting 51% from 2 which is the 67th best mark in the country. The problem is our 3pt shooting which is currently only 30.3% which is 258th in the nation. This team is a better shooting team than they've displayed thus far. I think we will regress to the mean and be fine. I think we had some poor shot selection on Saturday and couldn't hit the broad side of the barn against tennessee, but I think these are aberrations.
