Ugly game but I wouldn't say GU didn't do good things. Easy shots were missed. Concentration was off. Good defense though. Porter who usually shows up was in a fog.

An abomination. Really.
I want to complain about those offensive foul calls but that would make it seem like they had an impact on the game, but they didn't, since the Hoyas wouldn't have scored on those possessions anyway. An abomination.

I'm glad we got the win but that was about the ugliest basketball game I ever saw.

We played excellent defense, took good high percentage shots in the first half, and used defense to create offense at the start of the 2nd half.
Unfortunately, we had too many turnovers and offensive fouls, gave up too many offensive rebounds, and had a few defensive lapses in transition.

I'm happy with the win. I would've been a lot happier if it wasn't on ESPN for everyone to watch. Georgetown is getting more pub on twitter right now than it did for the IU game and needless to say it is not good. For those that say who cares about twitter well I follow a ton of high school basketball players and this is what they are talking about.

Agree with everyone that this was an ugly, ugly game, but give Tennessee credit they played physical man defense and kept the cutters from getting open. They also were patient on offense so they made the Hoyas work on the defensive end. Again as in the Indiana game the Hoyas lost their legs and were tired by mid second half. Bobby Knight commented that the Hoyas would be in the one-and-one before the ten minute mark. The Hoyas did not drive to the basket the rest of the game and did not get but two foul calls the rest of the night. I think this was because they were tired and they took the easy outside jump shot. JT3 has to develop at least two more players to fit into the rotation or the BE will not be pretty. Games like this is where a true point guard is sorely missed.

Everyone predicted the sky was falling when we beat Temple 40-38 during Greg's sophomore season....we'll be fine...if Mikael stops trying to be the man when he's a role player lol

We won and that is what will count in March. Sure, we left a poor impression on a few recruits, but we have how many more chances to change that perception? The alternative of losing this game or even losing a well played game would be worse. I really do not care what a few high school recruits think of the hoyas after a single game. Do you think Kentucky cared about recruiting last night? No they cared about losing last night. At the end of the day recruits do not like losers, let's not be or act like one.

We finally get somebody that doesn't zone us, and we stink the joint up offensively. We got killed on the boards, too. We missed too many FT's and close in shots. Hopkins shot 75% from the line last yr. What has happened to his FT shooting? All part of the master plan to be played man more. ;D I agree about the rebounding. I mentioned it earlier but I think it may be due to two factors: the emphasis on running in transition and the inability to push around while boxing out. Hopkins can hold his ground but you don't see him backing his man out or moving them to take over a rebounding zone.
