I knew he dropped weight but 30lbs? Very good. He could be great for us.

85% at the line wow. I know Jessie was at 76% or something like that.

85% at the line wow. I know Jessie was at 76% or something like that. We will find a way to fix those numbers.

Very impressed that such a young kid was able to identify his biggest weakness, work his butt off to get in great shape, and turn it into a positive. I think being in great shape will also turn him into a better defender. I already think he has a college ready offensive game. Very interested to see his contributions next year.

Marcus looks to be in really good shape. Keep at it young man! Tweet with a picture in the Joe Hampton thread shows him in really good shape.....also training for a half marathon. This kid seems to be getting serious about being in shape for next season. 85% at the line to boot? LOVE IT!!

I definitely think he will outplay his ranking.
I look for him to make a contribution next year.

I see this and think of what Josh Smith could have done. Dedication and hard work in the gym plus a sensible diet can lead to transformative results.
Very excited for Marcus. I think he has much greater potential than his ranking would suggest (not that its a bad ranking). His high school team was stacked and I can imagine there were not a lot of shots for him.

That kid looks absolutely determined to make it big time in D1 hoops. You just can't teach that level of commitment, but it can carry over to his teammates. Can't wait to see this kid hit the floor in a Hoya uni next year!

Biology is a lame excuse for a lack of desire.

Biology is a lame excuse for a lack of desire. It's not really. There's plenty of evidence that weight is roughly 70% attributable to genetics. That's not to say that Josh couldn't have lost more weight, but the effort level required and the weight that people settle at even with diet and exercise can vary greatly due to genetics.
