This has to be the most humorous post on this board is quite some time. The board that was convinced we were going to lose to 14 seed Belmont and waiting for a post-season collapse since October is now arrogant? My how things have changed so drastically in a day. you read the posts? i don't frequent your board, so i wouldn't know all the stuff you're talking about. but continue, because you're proving my point without me saying much. We know you don't frequent the board. You applied to the site a second ago just so you could tell the fan base of this board that they are arrogant and are not giving your boys their due respect. We got it. You're still annoying. Regardless of what the outcome of the game turns out to be I wish your program luck in the future at fighting for the title of Second To Last Most Irrelevant North Carolina Team In The ACC.

MCI, how dare you attempt to confirm the coverage for a Hoya game on a Hoyas board. What's wrong with you?
I also appreciated your dressing down of our soon to be departing guest. Nicely done.

Packphan must be the oddest of our visitors ever. Dude, where are you seeing the "unreal" level of arrogance on this board? The part where people say that NC State is really talented and playing their best ball? The part where people say that CJ Leslie could take over or where Howell is a load and we should worry about him? The part where people say this is going to be an extremely tough game?
Oh wait, because someone said we will win, we're the most arrogant fan base in America. I'm sure there are no posts on the Wolfpack board that think you guys are going to win. Chill out man. The Internet is chock full of places to get riled up; this is not one of them. Unless you want to talk about facilities. Then it is.

I tweeted T.J. Warren and said lets make a deal. If Gtown wins you decommit and join the Hoyas. He said Ha no thanks...hahaha No offense but that kinda smacks of desperation. TJ made his choice so forget about him. He isn't worth the tweets from Hoya fans.

(If this is construed as a gambling post, mods can feel free to remove it. I think that its an insightful analysis into Georgetown's chances by a top sports expert.)
Sal Selvaggio, one of the very top sports handicappers in the game, had this to say about Georgetown being favored by 4: "This line, to me, is ridiculous. Georgetown would have been favored by 10 points a month ago and now you are laying 4. Georgetown was ultra-impressive in torching Belmont, a top-25-rated team by wiseguys, while NC State won against an over-seeded and overrated San Diego State. Good luck preparing for John Thompson III's complex offensive/defensive schemes. To prove my point about how difficult these schemes are since Thompson took over at Georgetown, here's a stat worth noting: His teams are 51-27 against the spread against nonconference teams including 7-0 ATS this season. I made this game Georgetown minus-8 and bet a ton at minus-3.5. This is the best play on the board."

Don't mind the NC State fan. Take a quick tour of their board, Pack Pride and you'll see why other ACC fans refer to it as 'Crack Ride'. Most of their fans are pretty reasonable but just like any fanbase you'll get a healthy dose of jerks as well.
To unfairly cherry pick a couple of posts over there - NC State will win by 16 and the Princeton Offense is good in the regular season but garbage in tournaments.

They should ask their brethren at Chapel Hill about our offense in tourneys. And their brethren in Durham Know it all too well from the regular season.

Look, four key things to worry about or focus on in regards to NC State:
1-They have five starters averaging double figures which is impressive and speaks of their balance (and consistency).
2-They have great size in their starting five with no player under 6-5. For the first time in awhile the Hoyas won't have the advantage on that front.
3-They could get the Hoyas into foul trouble because they have players who can be very aggressive and effective in the paint. The Hoyas can't allow them to dominate inside.
4-They are playing their best basketball now.
So without question they are a formidable team. The Hoyas must play well and that includes Hollis actually showing up for game time this time around.

I live in the Charlotte area so I hear about NC State all the time. The things that should concern us most IMO are
1 - they are peaking as a team and
2 - their coaching staff is great. While Gottfried isn't known necessarily as an x's and o's guy, Bobby Lutz is an assistant there. He took UNC Charlotte to the NCAA tournament 5 times as a head coach and spends a good amount of time acting as a co-head coach during game time. eta - Orlando Early is also an assistant there with head coaching experience.
This game is going to be a challenge.

I don't know anything about this years NC St. team, so I checked their stats and came up with something interesting: for all the press that Leslie, Howell and Brown get, by far their most efficient offensive player is Scott Wood who in fact at 128 has the top offensive effeciency rating in the ACC. By comparison, Otto leads the Hoyas at 120 (7th in the BE). Wood is a 6'6" 175 lb. Junior forward who is their 3 pt. threat averaging over 6 tries a game, 40%. Keep an eye on him....

Good points by all. To counter their front court size and avoid the possible risk of Sims getting into foul trouble, would think that hopkins gets some key minutes today.
Lets go Hoyas! LETS GO!

This is a huge game for us. We have been in the top 12 all year and I think we need a win to solidify this season and get into the round of 16. I think going on a run in this tournament is just going to help us recruiting. Big game today. If we bring it, we win today!
