Passing C gets Wolfpack's attention by Doug Bean, CBSSports.com In playing against Georgetown’s Henry Sims on Sunday in the NCAA Round of 32, NC State has the unique challenge of facing a center who leads his team in assists at 3.5 per game. “So we feel like [if] we can get up and pressure him and disrupt his passing, the game will go in our favor,” F Richard Howell said. Perhaps true, but playing him too close also opens up a lot of other things, like the drive and backdoor cuts. As long as Henry can stay on the floor and out of foul trouble, I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do tomorrow. +1 Henry is proving to be a matchup problem for other teams centers because he is extremely comfortable away from the basket. If they pressure him, he's comfortable driving to the basket. Passing lanes are wide open for cutters.

Please Please Please pressure him. That is the worst way to defend our offense. It opens up cutters and ball screens. The most effective teams against us have all played Henry loose, and forced him to either shoot a J or pass around the perimeter.

Keeping the ball out of Henry's hands is a pretty good idea...

It certainly isn't as bad as Jared Dudley quote (the Big East has no athletes, etc) but Howell's comments do certainly give Henry and the Hoyas some bulletin board material before the game.
Let's take care of business.

The game is confirmed for CBS, right? Yep. Only game on at that time. The first three games are on CBS then they start to overlap.

Whatever happened to announcers who told you how many fouls a player has as he makes them and how many team fouls a team has. Sims sits for a good part of the first half and none of the announcers mentions he's sitting because he has 2 fouls. Also, it's important to know how close a team is to the double bonus.

Really nervous about this game. Doesn't really have anything to do with NC st. It's the date that has me worried. The last 3 years our season has ended on this date march 18th. We cannot lose on march 18th again. Please please please do not lose on march 18th. I just cannot take it if we lose on march 18th again. My daughter was born on 3-18-10. Please lift the curse.

Play D, take care of the ball, rebound, and enjoy the nationally televised game!

the amount of arrogance on this board is unreal. march madness tends to make everyone worried, not the georgetown hoyas evidently. geez . . . idk who is worse, syracuse, uconn, or georgetown. get a grip people. most fans are cool [next to the trailer park unc guys], but you all take the cake.
as for state, we are a MUCH different team from a year ago, and hope this board gets to witness it tomorrow.

This has to be the most humorous post on this board is quite some time. The board that was convinced we were going to lose to 14 seed Belmont and waiting for a post-season collapse since October is now arrogant? My how things have changed so drastically in a day.

I'm looking forward to this game. It's all gravy at this point. I've seen very little of NC State this year so it's difficult to get a feel but I do know that if we play D like we can, we can play with anyone. Just comparing schedules, I feel like we should win but everything pretty much goes out the window in March. Craziness all over the place. Go get em Hoyas! Lock down on D, value the ball and play like it's your last game because it is if you don't. Hoya Saxa!

NC State fanbase wants revenge for '89 game.
I can only speak for myself but I want revenge on them for being the "host" school for that atrocity known as the '08 Second Round game which took place on their court. That's enough to make me hate anyone affiliated with the entire state of North Carolina, let alone the fact 12 charging calls were made against Hoyas in that EXPLETIVE game. (saying that--hope Hoyas never play those flopping pansies from Wisconsin and Open Mouth Bo, what a crybaby bastard when he doesn't get the 15th call to go his way).

You signed up for this board to share that with us? What an insecure, no-life moron you must be. This board is far from arrogant when it comes to predicting the outcomes of games so stop trying to pump yourself up by looking for signs of disrespect. It is nothing short of pathetic. And both teams are different from last season, son. Your point? That game gets tossed out the window.
