I want JT3 to give breathers to JC so he's not too tired in March. Therefore, Markel needs to play around 20 mins.

Aaron was never in the doghouse, there are just some excellent wing players on this team. As for bringing Markel off the bench... I feel more comfortable with a PG on the floor than Otto or Greg or Hollis or Henry trying to catch a ball at half court

Is Bowen a wing? I just assumed that he is a 2.

I would like to see Aaton get some minutes at guard. Perhaps he is out of the dog house? What dog house? He's the 9th or 10th best player on the team. How many minutes is he supposed to get?

Yeah I hope JT3 focuses on working Bowen into the rotation with the season winding down. That would be brilliant.

I've said this in other threads for the last 3 weeks. This is the most important game of the year. Not because it may decide our BET or NCAA seeding. Because losing to ND seems to be a precursor of NCAA first round implosion. The last 2 years ND exposed all our weaknesses and make us look very beatable. I predict if they can do it again this year we are in NCAA first round trouble. BUT if we play like we did yesterday we will prove (at least to me) that we have turned a corner and this year's team really is a possible elite eight contender. I know our record says we're better but beating ND (and beating them good) will prove it.

The board consensus has no role in Starks' PT or lack thereof. It was made pretty clear that the team org chart on that decision starts and ends with the guy who said, "we'll see." As it should. Dan, are you suggesting we can't express our opinions on what JT3 will decide? Of course the "board consensus has no role". Nothing this board does has a role in that regard, but that doesn't prevent us from expressing opinions. Nope - just expressing the reality of the situation. Opine away.

I love hoyatalk but man am I sick of you on your high horse. I know you work really hard to make this board better and I appreciate that, but enough is enough. The whole point of a message board is to speculate about juicy topics exactly like whether or not Markel will start on Monday. I played a sport at Georgetown so I understand better than most that it's not good for the athletes to get caught up in drama or look ahead - but WE'RE NOT PLAYERS. The main reason you're losing people to casualhoya (sorry, but it's true, and even though I still visit both my % is 80-20 when it used to be the other way around) is because of unnecessarily authoritative comments like this. The one thing we all have is common is our love for the Hoyas (and the fact that we're obviously big dorks) - please don't get in the way of that. Thanks for your opinion. Since you love CasualHoya so much, where is your sense of humor? Can't you allow for me to have at least a smidge too? My initial post that seems to have burnt your first amendment sensibility to the core was intended to express the reality of the situation - but nowhere did I say people couldn't discuss it. And no, I don't own any horses.

I know our record says we're better but beating ND (and beating them good) will prove it. If we prove we can handle ND, I'll be begging for us to wind up in Duke's regional. They play the same kind of game as ND, and if we can shut down the Irish outside shooters, I'll feel pretty good about our doing the same against the Blue Devils.

Austinex, exactly. We have to show we can shut down a 3 point team like ND. Sooner or later (usually sooner) we run into a team like that and they kill us. That's also why the Marquette game next Saturday, while it would be nice to win, won't tell us as much as our chances in the NCAA as the ND game.

Surprised that JTIII is playing coy on this. I was hoping it was a one-game thing and Starks is back playing regular minutes. Yeah I hope JT3 focuses on working Bowen into the rotation with the season winding down. That would be brilliant. That's funny as hell. And congrats to musiccityhoya for the over-reaction of the year. Must have been a lot of pent up frustration going on there.

Its the easiest way to shut down that line of questioning. If he says Markel will play tomorrow, they'll ask why he hasn't played, what the reasoning was behind it, and try to get a story. If he says nothing at all, they'll have nothing to write.

Markel hasn't played well of late but his defiance of JTIII at the end of the Seton Hall game wasn't as bad as I think some are making it out to be. While I'm glad coach is holding players accountable for their actions, I'd be very surprised if Markel goes from starting against Seton Hall to two consecutive DNP-CDs.

I'd like to see Trawick get the minutes normally reserved for Starks.

I'd like to see Caprio get the minutes reserved for Starks when we're up by 25 on the Irish.
Very excited for the quick turnaround after the alumni weekend. Notre Dame's recent success against us ends tonight. Otto and Nate need to keep Cooley off the boards and whoever does a good job defending the 3 ball will earn extra minutes from coach, I hope. Let's bury the Irish tonight

Horses that do drugs even recreationally must be pretty difficult to find. Sounds expensive too.
