I figure Dan is still in transit, so let's start looking ahead. No cupcake at home, but a game we should win if we play with intensity on D and VALUE THE BALL on offense.

I hope the Hoyas pack their offensive rebounding and zone defense before they get on that plane to Chicago.

This year the Big East has no automatic wins. These games can really hurt if we take them for granted.

Shut down Cleve Melvin and Hoyas should be fine.

Not great shooting team mostly slashers. Not big either. They look to press and push the pace. Keep turnovers down and we win. Simple as that.

Thought we handled sju's press well and if we do the same against depaul....I expect a similar outcome.

DePaul's building usually has that weird vibe unique to big, 85% empty arenas. Might be a better turnout this time. And Purnell looks like he's starting to turn it around there. If we give them hope in the final five minutes, watch out.

They run the zone press all game. This is definitely a game where you have to attack to score early. The thing I've noticed more about DePaul this year is that they get really dispirited if you score easy off their press early in the game, and try to answer by taking quick shots....also Melvin has been doing a lot of settling for jump shots this year..hopefully he chooses that route.

They rushed the court after beating Pitt. This year. Tom Kleinschmidt is not walking through that door. They suck as they always do.
God, I hate DePaul. (Grew up a Marquette fan.)

Wait, who rushed the court? Were more than 50 people at that Pitt game?

We better win; don't want any of court rushing on us. I hope we are up for this game; players might be weary with a 2-day turnaround with traveling much of the time in between.

Seems they flew to Chicago last night after the game. Plenty of time to rest up. Need to come out sharp and end all hope for Depaul early!!

For a change, how about we play a good first half that carries over to the second half? We have not had one of those in a while. I like being a 2nd half team but against teams like DePaul it makes everything easier to break their spirit early and keep the crowd out of it.

I like being a 2nd half team but against teams like DePaul it makes everything easier to break their spirit early and keep the crowd out of it. Would love to win a game or two without worrying about a second half comeback by the opponent. Henry needs to emerge again as a scoring threat inside of 10 feet. Nate needs to continue to establish his offensive game. More opportunity for Hopkins to grow and develop on the road. Same for Trawick and Whittington.

Agree, in best case scenario that this is a game where Trawick, Whittington and Hopkins can get some time, but need to not take DePaul for granted this year. It has been many Big East seasons since they had a winning record even out of conference and they have one this year. Attendance probably shouldn't be a problem there are still plenty of lower level tickets on Stub Hub and even the DePaul Box office. (Stub Hub tix are cheaper.) While Melvin is there best player, Pitt found out they have several good players this year. Still, if we rebound and protect the ball and shoot and defend we should win. Like South Florida and Rutgers have shown us this is no longer a gimme and they are starting to take some pride in their home court.
