I vote for henry and Greg to be the main two in there. I think they're the best combination of passing and mid range jump shots we have. Has Greg made 10 shots all year? What games are people watching.

What games are people watching. I ask myself that same exact question quite often. He's hit a few jumpers here and there but his only consistent production has come on the defensive end. I don't see how any one can say definitively what he brings to the table consistently on offense.

I've always thought a majority of his shots came from 3. Can't really remember shots of his that weren't behind the arc or right at the rim.

In high school his offense was clearly more of his calling card than his defense. I don't worry about his ability to score, to dribble, to hit a midrange jumpshot. Just as I didn't worry about that in regards to Starks. I'll leave the doubts to the typical, negative band of brothers who have nothing good to say about any Hoya until they see enough evidence with their own eyes.

I rewatched the 2nd half keying in on Greg. I saw a positive team contribution but not nearly the opus that some of you claim. He played hard as did the other members of the team.

Greg's offense remains a work in progress. What impresses me is that he is able to defend smaller, quick players. This is not easy for anyone, but particularly impressive for a kid with fewer than 15 games experience and playing some very high quality opposition. There are two ways to evaluate Greg's performance--comparing him to Otto, in which case he is not going to appear to be as valuable (which is certainly more of a comment on Otto than Greg)and comparing him to most Big East freshmen, in which case he is doing well and making considerable progress.

his shot will come. his defense should always be present. he'll get a rack of run next year when Hollywood is gone. You guys realize that he could be 6'10 by then and playing the 2/3 or 3/2?

Sounds like HSB might be suffering from a concussion. We had better keep him on the bench for a couple days.

As opposed to making snap judgments about a guy's abilities based on a few minutes of play per game in a structured offense. Oh look. I can do the stupid rolling eyes response too. By the way I don't recall claiming he was all BE quality yet. I do remember claiming his ability to score shouldn't be a problem in the future.

It's not a snap judgement if a player hasn't shown he's capable of it at this level. Not saying he can't do it but how do we really know? I was one of Greg's biggest proponents because I saw his potential with my own eyes in high school but doing it in high school and doing it in the Big East are two different things. And even the OP said he made a typo, so I get it.

I have no doubt that Greg's offense will come around. I have doubts that it will come around this year, but going forward he's going to be fine on that end of the court. He, Jabril, and Otto are going to spend this summer knocking down 3's, and all of them will turn into 35+% 3 point shooters.

By the way I don't recall claiming he was all BE quality yet. I do remember claiming his ability to score shouldn't be a problem in the future. Who's making a snap judgment? Nice strawman. You're claiming he shouldn't have trouble scoring based on his HS production. Either (a) you saw him play in high school and are basing your evaluation on that evidence, in which case you shouldn't bash people on here who only have, what, 100 minutes of playing time at the college level upon which to base their judgment, or (b) you are just looking at his HS numbers and making the leap that he will be able to produce at the college level, which is equally valid/invalid as people wanting to withhold judgment until they have a larger sample size. Either way, I fail to see the problem with someone wanting more "evidence" before judging the kid. No one is bashing him. They're simply not as willing as you to assume he'll be a star. I happen to think he looks like he has a ton of talent and will be a great player. However, I have no problem with people who want to reserve judgment.

I love Otto Porter, his nose for the ball and the way he keeps himself in front of the opposing player on defense. But at 205 lbs. he should not be playing center in the Big East. WVU has five guys in the 250 lb. range including Kevin Jones who tops the scales around 260 lbs. If these guys post up against Otto or Greg they will be be bringing a load with them. Even Hopkins, listed at 223 lbs. is going to be giving up close to 40 lbs. guarding Jones. We need Nate and Mikael to get good minutes in at the 4 and at the 5 when Henry needs a breather and until Tyler gets healthy.

I have a feeling we're not seeing Tyler this year, and you can't help but wonder even after that.
