So I watched the 2nd half of the game for a 2nd time and all i can say is that in the 30 years I have watched Hoya basketball...I have never seen a Georgetown wing player put on that kind of defensive performance ...EVER!! What G-Dub did last night was legendary.
I've seen Jeremiah play shut down defense for a few minutes at a time....I saw what Gene Smith did to Kentucky....and I've seen the great Hoya bigs do their thing.....but I have never seen a perimeter wing with his footwork and length ever do anything like that.

I kept hearing DJO the WHOLE first half and after the first few minutes of the second half noticed that Greg was inserted to guard him and pretty much focused on that matchup for rest of the second half til we made our run. His fluidness around ball screens, attention to the passing lanes and focus was exceptional. Particularly when managing the upteen ball fakes by DJO. Young players typically get into foul trouble very easily on petty shot fakes 25 ft from the basket and Greg was having none of it. Mayb he could send the tape of his second half D to the Tom Emansky basketball academy for D.

Greg could be a huge factor against Syracuse, if he can control Joseph and Waiters on the wing, that would hamstring their offense tremendously. With Jabril facing down Triche or Jardine - should be fun. (yeah I know it's weeks away, just could not help myself).

Boeheim says Dion Waiters is unguardable. I say he hasn't seen Greg yet.

As the old saying goes: Water covers three quarters of the earth. Greg Whittington covers the rest.

Boz, he and Garry Maddox. Btw, who do you flash to the foul line vs. the Cuse zone. JC, Hollis or Hendawg?

He usually plays up there anyway; also, he has enough height to shoot over the bigs or to pass it off, whether down to the baseline or out to the wing. The Syracuse guards and wings are very good at deflecting passes, but Henry can just go over them. Mikael could be useful there as well, if he does not get flustered in the Dome with the pressure their defense can bring.

Henry's getting pretty good at the lob pass to the backdoor cutter (rather than the bounce pass) which should be pretty useful against Cuse

We know Otto, JC, Hollis, and Markel (get better!) can hit that shot as well. Jabril, JC, and Henry all can attack the basket from that point, opening up kick outs as well. I even trust Greg, Nate, and just about everyone else to make the correct pass. That game should be very fun, win or win. Losing is never an option against Cuse

that's the good thing about it. Hoyas have 4 guys with solid mid-range games to flash to that spot, Hendawg, Otto, Hollis and GW. Haven't seen enough of Mikael's shot at this level to add him to it.
Boz, Hendawg was Cypress Hill's DJ.

I vote for henry and Greg to be the main two in there. I think they're the best combination of passing and mid range jump shots we have.

Where did I miss Greg's mid-range game?
Henry, Jason, Hollis, Otto are all better options though I'd prefer Hollis to be on the perimeter.
