I was wondering who the board might include in an all-time Top 10 list of most hated opponent players. I'll start off with the following 10, in no particular order (and with just a few minutes of thought):
1) John Pinone, Villanova 2) Kevin Smith, St. John's 3) Rony Seikaly, Syracuse 4) Derrick Coleman, Syracuse 5) Roosevelt Bouie, Syracuse 6) Pearl Washington, Syracuse 7) Harold Jensen, Villanova (his great performance hurt soooo badly in the most painful loss in Hoya history) 8) James Worthy, North Carolina (only one game, but his great performance hurt soooo badly in the second most painful loss in Hoya history) 9) Andre Hawkins, Syracuse 10) Eric Devendorf, Syracuse

Understandably, there can be some glaring omissions from spur-of-the-moment lists. Didn't want to get drawn in to this particular topic, but...

Off the top of my head, I would add Gary McLain from Nova and Jerome Lane from Pitt from the past and, more recently, Gerry McNamara from Cuse, Aaron Gray and Levance Fields from Pitt, and Luke Harangody from ND. You could addd JJ Redick and any number of annoying Dukies, but we didn't play them often enough to qualify for my list.

I second Harold Jensen and would put Billy Donovan up there as well.

Back in the day Hoya fans seemed to have it in for Marty Headd (Cuse). Jay Murphy (BC) was a killer too -- good player but always seemed to shoot 90% from the field against us (think he went on to play for the Wizards). Honorable mention to Kevin Pittsnogle and Boo Harvey.

Didn't Michael Adams get into a fight with Ewing? I know Pearl punched Ewing in the Stomach. Add Ray Allen onto the list.

Colin Falls is a darkhorse of recent vintage. We seemed to do well against his teams, but he was always a nuisance. See, e.g., the January 2006 four-point play with thanks to Bobo.
I can't get behind Reynolds. While he was hated, he never did anything worth discussing against us (except stink).

Of the JTIII era, the only player that I "hate" is Devo. No one else was really good enough for me to have strong feelings against and the good players I respected. Guys like Aaron Gray, I really didnt like, but the way that Roy ended up dominating him for some reason made me dislike him less. Maybe Grevious, even though there was only one game, but that is more about not liking the way the press follows UMD. How bout Jeremiah Rivers

Who was that guy on BC that talked smack before the '07 Tournament game and then got into it with Sapp?

I was a big Andy Rautins hater. And I second whoever said Levance Fields and Aaron Gray. Add Dejuan Blair and Sam Young to my list too. I'm also a Baltimore Ravens fan so I probably have a bit more hate towards Pittsburgh players than most do. I just don't like Pittsburgh at all haha.

Jared Dudley was the BC guy who got into it with Sapp. Yes, Dudley. 6'7. 225 or so. Leading up to that game he was talking up the ACC because they had better athletes, and programs with history. Then Pat Jr dunked all over him, so he took out his anger and frustration on Sapp -- all 6'2 of him. But Sapp would have none of it and gave it right back! Awesome. Agree on most-hated during the JT3 era -- Devendorf. Not only was he offensive on the court (though effective enough to draw our attention) he was a complete DELETED. Ooops, ok how about he was a complete DELETED DELETED. Hmm... let's settle for, he was not a model student. As for Pearl Washington -- no, I hated Coleman and most other Orangemen, but Pearl was do damn talented and really beautiful to watch. Can't say I was hating on that kid. And he was great for the BE.

And Pat said before the game, if he got the chance, he was going to throw down on him. Roy's pass from the foul line was a thing of beauty. I think the Dudley-Sapp altercation took place before the dunk, but I could be mistaken.

Agree about Pearl. I didn't particularly like him. After all, he did play for our hated rival. But I did like watching him play. Pearl was great, with a flair to his game.
