This kid has highest bidder written all over him. With Gonzaga & PC on his final list? Doesn't seem likely.. He's adding schools all over the map at the last minute. Something ain't kosher.

I will predict he does NOT become a Hoya, despite the outstanding academics. I may change my name to Captain Obvious.

Both Gonzaga & Ohio State were on his "interested" list right after he left Washington.. His list of visits included G'town & Texas but he dropped them and picked up Gonzaga & Ohio State.. Doesn't seem shady to me at all.. The staff has to revise its approach when recruiting guards, their current message is not working..

This is the problem when people get overly optimistic about landing these guys which was unrealistic to begin with. When people start expecting to land both NWG and Kenny Williams and treat Anton Gill as an after thought this kind of down is bound to happen. The short list for these transfers were pretty huge to begin with and we really had no strong connections or relationships to NWG, Kenny Williams, etc so it was highly unlikely that they were going to come here.

Optimism for potential players isn't the issue Professor, the issue is JT3 landing guards.. I get that Peak & Kaleb have the skills to play guard but neither were considered to be guards coming out of HS.. I love both of them btw.. As Beenaround stated in the Collins thread, G'town has landed 2 true guards in the past 4 classes(DSR & Campbell).. If you want to dig deeper, G'town has only landed 2 lead/pg's in the past 6 seasons(Starks & Campbell).. Let's be real, this is a concerning track record..

Only for you and a handful of other malcontents. You change your definitions and time frames to make it look like we "have a problem" but the truth is we recruit ball players, not positions. We have more than enough ball players every year. We have not had a problem with ball handling lately, the key "guard skill" that seems to concern people most and a number of the people you call forwards can and will contribute. We run an offense that does not rely on a primary ball handling guard. If that means guys who want to have the ball in their hands 24/7 are not coming here than so be it (tho I don't agree with your assessment) - we are just fine with ball players instead:)

Ability to guard other 1's is more important in my opinion. LJ can be a penetrate and pitch guy and maybe even Isaac. As seaweed points out, our O just doesn't need that type of ball dominant skill set as we are more focused on passing & cutting. My only issue with this is when the clock breaks down and you need to go, we sometimes aren't as sure of who to go to.

There's a lot of truth to what Etomic says and without stating the obvious a lot of the top Lead guards want to play with the ball in their hands. Even though we've had guys that dominated the ball in CW and Markel the narrative still exists that you cannot do that here. It is what it is...
On the flip-side we did pass on a couple of guards in Hart and Roddy Peters for instance. Hind-sight is 20/20 but would love to have either of those guys on next years team especially Peters...

Yes, our offense doesn't necessarily need a traditional PG except when the offense breaks down/shot clock winds down. Also, with the shot clock being reduced it will potentially be more important to have a ballhandler who can create for himself or others. But I agree, having so few guards on the roster can be a problem and result in wings (Johnson, LJ, White) trying to check other team's guards. Plus, what happens if DSR or Tre get injured or have some other reason not to be available??

Ouch that's gotta hurt if you're Washington Fan. (Also probably hurts bad for the UNLV fans who thought he was in the bag).
